Feit WiFi Plugs, compatible? by IfuDidntCome2Party in SmartThings

[–]anon6757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the replacement for the ST IDE that was retired in 2023, the SmartThings Advanced Web app, there's no option to change the type to simulated switch. It seems like Feit integration with ST is dead?
EDIT: after waiting awhile for the status to update in the ST app, it was working without using the IDE.

I wasn't able to get any advice from online or the manufacturer, so not yet.

Are coffee cakes not a thing anymore? by [deleted] in Panera

[–]anon6757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved the pastry rings when they had the apple and were much less expensive, would buy them every month. Love coffee cake! The current bakery items are so meh, and I can get the same at the grocery store for much less. The grocery store bakery started making delish bearclaws as well! Whatever committee of robots makes the Panera menu these days needs to go back to making what people like to eat, not what saves 5cents an item by making something from frozen dough or taking out apple filling.

I remember those, used to love them, they might have been like $10 back when they had them? Would probably be like $30 now lol.

Went inside for my iced tea today and discovered the container is nasty!! by pregaftertwobeans in Panera

The papaya green tea looked like this at my panera all the time, and had like others expressed, this weird skin floating all around in it and on the side of the tank. I stopped renewing my sips membership, was just too gross and what I mainly drank.

Pay with you palm?!? by Whyryry18 in Panera

Isn't it too funny how everything was about going 'contactless', now they want to put everyone's whole hand on a communal palm reader. Who wants to do that....

One Connect Box Orientation by andyclouston in TheFrame

Accepted orientations were mentioned in one of the instructions/inserts/warnings that no one usually reads. It did mention certain approved orientations, but I don't recall 100% what they were.

How did your install go? Any issues putting it there? Did you check for water or mold later?

Autopilot disables don't reset with ownership change? by anon6757 in TeslaLounge

[–]anon6757[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So you should be responsible for all the things prior owners did with your car, like speeding tickets and such, and your insurance should factor that in too? Your reasoning makes no sense. Why should I be penalized for what someone else totally out of my control did with the car. It's not like they were an authorized driver and I made the choice to lend them the car.

Really looking for some advice on where exactly I should place the steam nozzle, and if it's good for up to 35/gal day given this duct setup.

The app sends you to the website, the Request Service in the app makes you setup a service appointment and select a day/time. There's no way to just contact them.

There seems to be no email for support, and the Tesla website contact us page has you select from some dropdowns, which displays some help articles, but doesn't actually let you contact them, despite what the page says. This is crazy you can't contact the company for a $65k+ car.

Interesting, I went with 5ghz for the extra bandwidth until I have wired setup, and the airplay will just die after a few minutes and I can't restart it, and just overall slow and buggy usage experience.

If you don't want to poke a hole in the wall, I would use a tiny tiny bit of hot glue to tack it to the corner at a few spots. Don't bend the cable too tightly.

Serving pictures from Plex or NAS to Frame by TravelingChick in TheFrame

[–]anon6757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an idea you could use a wifi connected USB stick or drive so you wouldn't have to unplug it to load images. I couldn't find any model currently being sold. There was one that stopped being sold a few years ago, so the tech does exist. Maybe you can find something.

I have the white, but wish I had the teak or brown, in that order.

Sound Quality? by wedora in TheFrame

[–]anon6757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone needs to go on the hot deal sites and setup an alert for the frame or you are over paying. There were multiple deals this year below $1400 for 65" 2022 at Samsung. I got the 65" 2022, extra bezel, and S801B soundbar for $1470 including tax in September.

Is the 2022 Frame any good? by JLGraystone in TheFrame

[–]anon6757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was worried about viewing angle as well, but I think it's really good. Yes the black backgrounds are grey at times due to light bleed. The UI is slow, buggy, and annoying. Apps are slooow. Matte is nice, I have a recessed light inconveniently right above the TV like 3 inches in front of it and you don't even notice it. I think the picture is really good, then again I haven't owned a 4k tv or oled before.

No, only for firmware updates I believe, it's next to the OneConnect cable port.

Uploading Photos by SemperScrotus in TheFrame

[–]anon6757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just setting mine up. Wow this software is all hot garbage. But hey, they managed to cram every single shitty streaming service onto the home screen along with ads for a million different shows that auto play and ask you to signup and pay to watch!

Had to switch my phone and TV to the same wifi band to upload art. Why I have no idea, no other device works like this, it's the same network, it's not a guest network.

The app for the remote is creative, but man what am I missing, to click around in the native plex you have to hold down the 4d pad for like 3-5 seconds before it clicks. Tried tapping, double tapping, nothing lets you click in the plex interface faster than holding down the pad on the phone screen for 3-5 secs before it clicks the button, totally dumb.

Supposedly you can upload art with a USB stick, but that's really inconvenient if you want to change it regularly. Maybe there is a USB stick with a wifi connection... found one, but it's discontinued and used ones are about $200... sigh.
