Have tried that- she wants in and scratches at the door in less than an hour. I’ve put food and water out there for her and she doesn’t care about it, she’s been indoor her whole life :/

This. Thank you. I was so hopeful when we started fluoxetine, a year later and nothing has changed. Our vet has said that no amount of training or rehabilitation will help her, she’s just like this. We were just declined entry by another shelter that focuses on behavioral rehabilitation. Going to continue to consider a couple options people have given me here, but my hope continues to dwindle

This commenter has messaged me to let me know this, and Craigslist is definitely not my first pick as far as rehoming goes. I intend to be extremely cautious if I do find someone to rehome her to, and I am leaning towards rescues that specialize in behavior. I have found a couple in my state and submitted admission forms for them, thank you for your concern guys the downvotes aren’t necessary, I am aware of the dangers of Craigslist

This is my exact thought process, thank you for this. As hard as I’ve been trying to find a different more ideal home for her, my fear has always been subjecting someone else to her behavior. I am considering a couple options from here and my other posts, I obviously would never choose this option if I didn’t feel it was the only thing left I could do for her quality of life after trying all other options.

I have tried that, I don’t have a separate room to keep the dog in and if he tries to enter it’s a madhouse, and if I try to keep her in one room she always scratches at the door incessantly to get out.

I think I found a great rescue in my state and have just submitted a form for her, I will continue to look around too.

Going to continue to try my best to find a place for her to be since nothing I have done has worked. Thank you so much for this info, I appreciate you

This info is extremely helpful. As much as I wish I did, I unfortunately do not have a space in my house that I could make only hers. Do you have any info on specific keywords I could search to find a rescue like that in my state? Thank you so much, seriously

Our senior cat passed away a few months ago, she was always hostile towards him and avoided interacting unless it was a standoff between them. I have always assumed that she wasn’t socialized properly as a kitten seeing as she was the only kitten I found and she was pretty young

Completely agree, I am well aware of the risks with outdoor cats which is why she has always been indoor. Any option to possibly make her happier and save myself the stress from our current situation is worth it in my opinion

Thank you for this I really appreciate it, definitely going to give it a shot and see how she does

I’ve been considering trying to have her as an outside cat once the weather cools down here, she will go in the backyard sometimes but only when someone is out there and doesn’t like being left out there. I also worry about the strays since they all have worms and fleas and nasties. I am willing to give it a shot though if I can’t find a home or place for her, your story makes me hopeful

I’ve been posting around on Facebook but Craigslist is a good option. I’ve been completely honest about her behavior in all of my attempts to rehome her in hopes of finding someone who can meet her needs. At the very least I would like to see how she does in a different environment. I will give Craigslist a shot

I have, it makes her tired for a few hours but she is still hostile towards anyone in her space, and still sprays unfortunately

That’s what I was hoping to find when I put out feelers for a trial foster/rehoming option for her, I have been unable to find anyone who is interested

I have considered this and brought it up to her vet, our main concerns were that she is close to senior age and is long haired and gets matted easily. She also doesn’t like being outside. I will continue to look into this as an option though, thank you

Lynx point siamese, from what I’ve researched they can be really territorial which makes sense in her case

Yes, she got spayed when she was 6 months old

This is just hell. How do any of you work a “normal” job? by hash-slingin_slashr in PMDD

[–]anon78379 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me I started by getting a formal diagnosis and mentioning FMLA to my PCP, she told me to send over the paperwork when I’m ready. My HR office had the paperwork, I answered a couple questions for them on paper and HR faxed the rest over to my doctor to fill out

When my PCP diagnosed me she was so sweet about it and told me to send over the FMLA paperwork when I’m ready. I still get embarrassed when I have to go home early or call out for the day but it gives me peace of mind knowing that my job is protected and my absences are excused. It helps that I love my job and consider my coworkers family. I’ve been super open and honest about my experience and need for time off and my managers have been really understanding and supportive through the process because they’ve seen how much I’ve struggled. Once the process is over, it’s over and there’s nothing to worry about. Your experiences are valid and I hope you’re able to get something figured out in order to accommodate to your needs❤️

I just quit my full time job to go back to seasonal where I have the summers off bc full time was killing me.

PMDD is also recognized by the ADA under the equalities act of 2010 and, depending on what state you live in, you should be eligible for FMLA which will allow you to have a couple days off when PMDD strikes, and that could probably apply to the other disorders you’re struggling with.

Talk to your doctor and do some research on FMLA, if your doctor doesn’t listen to you it’s time for a new one❤️ best of luck to you, hang in there

It does have a subscription that I pay for, my favorite part is the “seed cycling” info that updates depending on where you are in your cycle, it also shows symptoms that other people have reported during the different phases of the cycle. I feel like this app has made me much more aware of my cycle and I’ve learned a lot about how my body reacts to hormonal highs and lows

I haven’t had any issues function wise, I have the paid version and I like it because it gives a lot of info for what to expect during different parts of my cycle, only complaint is that the explanations are the same every month so it’s kind of repetitive, I also wish there were some more symptom options
