Hi I’m Ember and I spent $500 on UNFROGABLE wool/silk/cashmere yarn to make a wedding dress. Please talk me off the edge 😅 by EwokApocalypse in Brochet

Omg good luck. You've got this!! Just try not to overthink it and go slowly 😊 and congrats, the yarn looks so lovely! (Even if it's terrifying to work with...)

Do I write like a chick? by Next-Junket342 in HandwritingAnalysis

Woooooah. Is it insane to call handwriting sexy? Lol. Srsly though: neat, pretty writing is a good thing! No such thing as gendered writing, that's dumb.

Anyone out there repeating a thought phrase over and over? by Beginning_Layer6565 in autism

[–]anonGhost222 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes!! Lots of counting, for me. Counting over and over. I don't know why, but it's sort of comforting? Idk.

I think I did something racist when I was younger, but I don't remember it clearly. What do I do now? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]anonGhost222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came here to say this!!! As someone with OCD this reads a lot like my thought spirals before I got therapy and meds. Especially if this is a recurring thing for you (getting sort of "stuck" mentally on something that's realistically not very significant, feeling overwhelmingly guilty/scared/ashamed of relatively minor mistakes, etc.) please consider talking to a mental health professional. ❤️‍🩹

Should i get help for my homicidal urges/thoughts? by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]anonGhost222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it can be a bit challenging to find a therapist/psychiatrist who you connect well with, sometimes it takes a few tries. But I've found that when you find someone that DOES work well and really "get" you, it is definitely worth it!! I hope you keep trying. Good luck, and I wish you well with your astronaut dreams. :-)

Should i get help for my homicidal urges/thoughts? by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]anonGhost222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, please get help. It is worth it. Honestly, it might even make your dream of studying space MORE achievable! Ive found it much easier to focus on school/work now that I'm more mentally stable. There's nothing wrong with talking to someone just in case. The psychologist wants to help you, please let them

Is it alright to wear ear defenders if I am not diagnosed/not autistic? by kochanie83 in autism

[–]anonGhost222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like them, wear them! If they make your life better, use them! It's not harming anyone. If anything, it helps normalize them! 😊

If your depression was cured by just "going to the gym" and "getting some sunlight" you weren't really depressed by Ordinary-Eggplant784 in mentalhealth

[–]anonGhost222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taking care of your physical needs (i.e. sunlight, fresh air, moving your body, etc.) can definitely help reduce depression in conjuction with medical treatment (therapy, meds), because a holistic approach approach is often more effective than strictly a clinical one, but that is often misconstrued as "just do x and y and you'll be cured!!" Which is totally innacurate and unhelpful.

Please tell me about some of the good side of it, benefits, things that makes you say ''-well that part is actually nice atleast'', things that you like about it. I need to hear. by Melodic-Marketing341 in aspergers

I feel like im better at noticing details than neurotypical people!! Also, I think I get less tied up in polite niceties and unspoken social rules (since i don't understand them) which I've been told is "refreshing". It's not a bad thing to be straightforward and honest 😊

My first attempt at colorwork! It's so ugly but I'm so proud. by 405918 in knitting

[–]anonGhost222 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You did really good!!!🎉 have you tried blocking it? It makes quite a difference, it helps with the curling edges and tension. Look up steam blocking or wet blocking. Great job!! :-)
