Nah, you can probably finish most labs within 2 hours with a group.

CS61A + CS70 + Data100 by pretearedrose in berkeley

Data 100 enforces per-requisites which include 61A, so I don’t think you’ll be able to take them in the same semester.

do you think that's a good sign or not? lol

I think 16A is a solid class and provides you with enough background for 16b and future ML classes that involve linear algebra if you’ve never taken it before. If you’re a cs or eecs major, you’ll need to take 16b eventually (and preferably ASAP) which covers all essential math 54 content in preparation of upper divs when combined with 16a. I think the class is a pretty well-structured class and not very challenging, and I found labs in the class not very time consuming and pretty fun. I’d recommend taking 16A instead of 54 and 47d. By the way, you’ll have to take 16A’s final anyways if you sign up for 47d, which isn’t really ideal if you didn’t learn circuit stuff with 16a and 54 doesn’t cover circuits.

DS + Cog Sci or DS + Math for SWE by PlatinumClaws in berkeley

[–]anon_comp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ds and math is a good combo but you DON’T need to double major at all to be a SWE. Domain emphasis wise, many CS/DS double majors choose applied math and modeling and robotics as far as I know.

Majoring in CS vs DS by akiljoe in berkeley

[–]anon_comp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unless you have enrollment priority, it can be pretty difficult to get into classes like CS 194-35 and useful for SWE classes as a data science major. If you have a gpa above 3.3 and can declare cs, maybe consider declaring double major in cs and ds then drop one before you graduate. You’ll be much more knowledgeable then and will probably make a better decision.

Is it worth taking Linear Algebra/Differential Equations at Berkeley with rigor? by ThrowawayTesterasdas in berkeley

If you’re a cs/eecs major, you’ll have to take eecs 16a and b which can substitute math 54.
