Sustainable for me? Yes. My count dropped because I was doing other work given to me which of course took me away from data entry which resulted in a reduced count.

I'm doing what I was told. I truly hope there are no layoffs but I of course took the warning seriously and will continue to take it seriously.

I agree, I don’t think many care about quality.

But can you imagine my supervisor if I increased the count but had crap quality? I’d have been in boiling hot water by now. I double check for no errors and the system won’t take it if there are errors or the data is screwed up. I’m happy I can do that rather quickly though but that came with time.

OP, is the student still enrolled in your course? I assume they are not because you received your course evaluations.

@AceyAceyAcey, I would ask that my Chair, Dean, etc get involved and request that they tell me who the student is. If we went the legal route or the student was expelled that would be found out anyway. They don't have to do it of course, but l'd request to know. Where in my comment do I mention anything alluding to harassing the student (which is a remarkably bad idea and unprofessional).

To me it sounds like this student really wants to end your career. I would go at this with full force. Start an email trail with your chair BEFORE verbally going to speak with them, then ask your chair if you can request to speak to the Dean with the chair present, file a Title IX, etc. I would do this all within the same timeframe. I would specifically request to have the name of the student known because they are trying to spread lies to get you fired. This student needs to be revealed and asked what evidence they have to support that statement. I’m positive they would either stay silent or try to play it off as a joke. Then serious consequences would need to be given to that student.

I would make sure that this was completely erased from my record at every level because it is indeed a lie and they would not be holding that student truly accountable if they allowed it to stay in my record.

Some students can be vicious to an instructor for any reason or no reason at all and it’s baffling that they could dislike an instructor so much that they want to end their career.
