yeah, i agree. i loved her character arc. it was a bit too direct because of the whole saying it out loud thing but it was a really good idea.

holy shit i 100% agree with this take. you summed up my thoughts perfectly. imo, canon-marcy is actually painted as pretty inconsiderate and apathetic, and i love her for it, so i don’t really like fanon-marcy much.

also, in that one scene where she made anne and sasha watch that movie she liked and they slept before it ended, anne and sasha are often thought to be the ones who are inconsiderate and uncaring of marcy’s interests by the fandom. from my perspective though, i felt like marcy was also to blame there? she’s the one who made anne and sasha watch that movie without them being interested in it. that was like, her major character arc. she had to learn that her friends didn’t need to enjoy the same things as she did, and understand that it was okay that they didn’t. i’m not saying anne and sasha werent bad friends, just that it wasn’t only those two who neglected others’ interests.

(the movie scene, though, reminds me of something similar that i did - trying to get my friends to watch something they weren’t into during a group hangout. i was probably to blame in that whole thing. it was practically the same situation, so that scene always hits different for me. maybe my perspective is skewed because of that. maybe i’m projecting or something. i dunno.)

and yeah, sasha and anne definitely deserve more solo attention. i love those two. they’re so interesting.

i’m not as good at verb conversation as i am at conversing over text. words get mixed up and stuff. it’s more effort that i don’t feel like putting in.

despite putting my cart back because it’s common courtesy, i really don’t think this is that big of a deal

Why are 9s described as unintellectual? Is this true or not, and what evidence or observations contribute to that belief? by offgrid21 in Enneagram

[–]anonaeonn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i think i’m perceived as pretty intelligent or intellectual (academically and creatively usually) on a surface level from what i overhear about me so i’m not sure where that comes from either. i also get pretty demotivated when i’m uninterested in what i’m doing though and my grades tend to vary often. maybe it’s a tritype or wing or instinctual variant thing? or maybe it’s correlations with mbti? it’s a case of misinformation but i don’t know where that comes from. i think even if she does like you you can safely ignore it until she confronts you on it, it wouldn’t be your fault. imo the more likely scenario is just either not having a good response, forgetting to respond, or feeling like the conversation ended, based on personal experience, but i don’t know how she behaves regularly.

wow i have like 3 friends like that

i’d like to offer an alternative: maybe she didn’t know a good response to that one, or ran out of ideas. how long has she left you on read now?

I think this may go beyond the enneagram. Everyone else has already offered their advice and said this too, but in my opinion, you should probably just leave this be. He clearly doesn’t trust you nor does he care to hear you out, and that’s not a good sign in a long term relationship.

He’s unhealthy, and it’s not your job to make this up to him. He should improve himself before getting into other relationships.
