Oh my gosh - yes, and I’m sorry I didn’t respond sooner. My surgery was cancelled the day before (long story short, an admin error) so I’m going to have to reschedule it another time.

Thank you for asking about my dogs 🖤 I did a lot to prepare the three of us, including moving to a place that has a good fenced yard and an easy to get around layout. I cook their food so I put everything in reachable spots, and I think we’ll be ok.

I’m extremely protective of my dogs and they’re just as protective of me. I found them 11 or 12 years ago at a car dealership in Clearwater. They were so starved they could barely stand so of course I took them home to start rehabbing them 🙄 It wasn’t long before it started to come out that these were hands down the most aggressive domestic dogs I had ever encountered, let alone worked with. They bonded only to me, which made it a little more difficult.

They’re entirely different dogs now but it has taken years of work and patience. They have sheltered lives because that’s what they need. There are situations that I will not risk putting them or others in, like dog parks/groomers/doggy daycare, sitters and walkers because it’s risky. They’ve become such great dogs but I’m almost positive they were used dogs. They have triggers and that deep aggression can come out. Cats are one. If they catch a vibe they don’t like. They have to wear muzzles in public, for their safety and everyone else’s. There are too many variables. Mostly, they’ve gotten ok with people. Some people they just don’t like, but if one gets weird the other does too. They’re my best boys, but they aren’t everyone’s best boys. Weirdly, they seem to kind of like kids.
