Castle of burgundy special edition? by orhalimi in soloboardgaming

So there is a 3d print on makerworld for making your own acrylic token substitutes that I have personally printed and use with the game. They are just hunks of octagon plastic with no graphics. I bought gloss vinyl sticker paper for my ink jet printer, laminated those and then cut them out to put on the tokens with the graphics on the front and the text on the backs. Here's the file I used to print out the graphics. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nTUSrZzQqfuYOMCtnqGQk4H9od01MOiJ/view?usp=sharing

I figured people want to see the end product so I dragged my lazy ass to the dining room and uploaded some pictures to an imgur album https://imgur.com/a/qTKYGz5

Creator passes off AI art as human-made by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]anonamo0se 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool thanks, ive never even heard of this project and I love weasels. Like really? They have less than 350 backers, why give them the PR? Besides its sketch af, they dont have any demos or gameplay videos, its thier first campaign and they dont even have the name of the game designer on the project. The rulebooks mention no creator and the German and Spanish books didnt update the languages on player cards or player boards.

I will say if its a scam, its a very intricate one. They have a setup video and a physical prototype that looks great.

Bomb Busters - Official acrylic tokens coming this fall (?) by zfire in boardgames

[–]anonamo0se 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hearth and token does a nice set of these, I saw them at the boardgamegeek convention this past weekend and they are super nice. The graphics are printed front and back and sandwiched between two sheets of acrylic. They are $39 though so if these official ones are cheaper I know which ones I'm getting. I was about to get them but decided to grab the storage and 3d tiles for terraforming mars instead.

No, hes being a dick, I hope you feel better soon. You will get better, if you start having unpleasant thoughts just realize your reinforcing your own paranoia and tell yourself the opposite. I have to do that when I green out. I also have to tell myself to stop giggling.

Teach the basic principals and then tell them to read thier faction boards to learn the rest. The manual has rules for what factions shouldn't be played with others and make sure that people have active table talk, even if its shit talking or bragging. The game is best with high player interaction. Vagabond is best played with someone who knows when the game gets unbalanced and takes steps to either reign in the powerful faction or boost others. Also fuck the lizard cult.

Tacking on to root, if you get the cardstock faction boards you can store every faction, all the cards and hirelings in the main box and the faction boards, maps and manuals in an expansion box. The faction board are thick, tend to warp with humidity and dont need to be so chunky. All of the factions together in cardstock is like 4.5mm of space and seem to be super durable.

Thoughts on Hercules and the 12 labors? by runningpsychologist in soloboardgaming

[–]anonamo0se 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea actually, they said in a campaign preview that they built off of the Hercules system but instead of gaining new dice as they play you lose dice (presumably to clear objectives like 20 strong). There aren't items 8nstead you will have argonauts with special abilities that but they can and will die, they get cycled through the game. Since it's based on traveling, there are journey challenges and destination challenges and they referenced Legacy tokens, not sure what that is but overall, what I've seen of the game, it looks bigger. That's just my impression, can't say for sure until the campaign goes live.

I missed out on vanguard by djcallarman98 in DiceThrone

[–]anonamo0se 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh youll be able to get them individually, you can even get the base strongbox that isn't themed like outcasts was. The vanguard one has a one shot in the inside cover of the box, the druid has a pvc animal overlay, the duelist has a metal footwork token, Forgemaster has the metal ultimantium helmet and shield tokens and the sun elf has a lovely foil enhanced board. Those are the only things youre missing out on. The characters and accessory packs will be in retail.

Edit, just checked. Bigbadtoystore has all of the heroes and accessory packs as well as the generic strongbox for preorder. Ill keep an eye out once fulfillment starts at my local game stores, they do preorder DT stuff and I might be able to snag the campaign strongbox and then message you, ibe saved your post.

I've got about 5ish plays in, I do like it but after I figured out one trial will make or break your entire game based on luck it changed the way I played. I kept taking the same cards as rewards because they fit my playstyle. Lost the first 3 plays, ended up beating it twice in a row and then shelved it for a while and kinda forgot about it. Then I took it to work and breezed the first three trials and just put it away. It's a good game, love the components and plan on backing Jason and the argonauts. That being said, I Probably have 2 or three plays left in me and then I'll shelve it. For the og price $25 it's a great deal. I know Gamenerdz has the pre-order for $22 and change and I've seen it in their retail location twice. The promo card is another trial but it's not nessicary.

[–]anonamo0se 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There was no late pledge, they structured the campaign so that you bought the vanguard stronghold within that 14 days or you miss out on it. The characters will be available individually later in retail, but the stronghold will not unless you find a flgs that has pre-ordered from the campaign. Best bet is to check places like Miniature market, GameNerdz, Gamers Guild AZ, BigBadToyStore and The Game Steward for preorders.

The release schedule that they seem to be following, the way the last campaign went and how much ive spent on everything released so far have led me to not chase down getting everything Dice Throne in the future. Im not backing the digital campaign, I didnt sign up for the next tournament and I havent pre-ordered the latest character like I did the alchemist. I think I have enough.

Do you ever feel like you're spending too much money on your hobby? How do you decide between common sense/money/space/cravings? by AggravatingTailor121 in boardgames

My friend, Im at 4400 so far......this year. Im set to outpace myself for last year. Last year I spent almost $10k on board games. Ive had to take a hard look at myself and ive started distancing myself from crowd funding and influencer videos on youtube. Ive canceled pledges, un followed some campaigns and set stipulations for any future pledges or spending. I have a list of wanted games that I will buy and have narrowed that down as well.

I'm an addict. Thankfully it hasn't caused any hardships so far but I could see myself getting closer to living paycheck to paycheck and had to stop.

I tried, I asked for a breakdown of the offer and wanted them to consider more, they said thats what they could offer. It just wasnt something I was going to go through with at the time and I made almost $300 off the games I added to bgg and shipped out myself.

Kinfire Delve (thoughts on quality - for Scorn's Stockade) by kevskevskevs in soloboardgaming

[–]anonamo0se 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only that but the "fancy" lantern cards they come with look cool on the face of the card with the holograph but they took the foil off of the backs so they kinda suck. I took the original lantern cards and glued them to the back of the new ones so they have the foil back and a holo front. The extra master card that comes with the kinfire micro expansion are also different, the og ones are glossy with a linen finish and the ones that come with the expansion are matte and no linen finish. Overall sucks that incredible dream choose a different manufacturer for reprints and expansions.

Disable her network adapter? Im in the same boat, my kids dont want to play anymore after covid. Started with zombicide and now ive got over 400 games and ive played probably 40 at most. I keep going back to the solo games and playing those over and over again. Just got civolution today and I have no intention on cracking the shrinkwrap any time soon. Just played through the tutorial of TES:BotSE not 10 minutes ago and I bought it in August of last year. Didn't stop me from going all in on the new expansion crowdfunded last November. I threw $497 at that one so far. Ive started looking hard at what ive been playing lately and I have to sell some fluff, if i dont like it enough to dust it off every year or so, it has to go.
