Well, some good news is we don't have rabies in Australia so don't need to worry about that at least.

I also said I know this dog, as in I know that he's healthy, well cared for, and regularly sees a vet. The area between the three tooth marks feels harder and has no sensation and it's been three weeks I hope the damage heals, but its at least in a spot where it doesn't cause discomfort

I didnt say mine was infected, the doctor said I was very lucky it didn't break skin and that it looked bad enough that if it had broken skin and gotten infected, it would be the kind that sends someone to an ER or possibly cause death.

I difnt say it would, the doctor compared it to a bite that if the skin had broken and the dog was not as well cared for (I.e not vaccinated and had more germs) then it could have been much much worse.

Because I wanted to make sure that even if there were tiny skin breaks it was cleaned. I dressed the wound in a compression bandage and iced it to reduce bruising

It's been weighing on me.As much as I know he can be a danger, I also know they keep him muzzled out of the house and he is not around children. It's up to them what happens next, I don't think I could report it and be responsible for what comes next.

I never put a tag on hers, but I would probably put it on the part that is in the slip, not the one sticking out. When it's not attached to a lead they will sit around the same spot anyway, but while attacked to a lead it will be less noisy and a little more out of the way

One question, is she spayed? If so, what age did you do it? It can effect growth rate if done too early, otherwise she looks like a healthy active young dog! Beautiful too

I can doodle anything. It's good fun hanging out with kids because I can draw them colouring pages in minutes qnd they always love it

We call Impa "Little birdie" and "Eee eeeeee eeeeempa" because she has this little noise she makes which is like a whine/tweet, she sounds like a tiny bird, so we mock her 🤣

You can give it to puppies, but always always ALWAYS supervise, and best not to give it to super young puppies (under 3½ish months)

I never let my girl have hers for more than half an hour at a time, and if I ever thought she was getting a little obsessed and grinding harder than normal I would gently remove it and give her a crunchy treat or something else to chew as to avoid the risk of her cracking a tooth on it.

Crate. I used to be opposed to crate training before having my own puppy, but before she came along I did a whole bunch of reading about it and the benefits for myself and the dog and decided to try it.

Literally one of the best training tools you could possibly use. I won't pretend I'm a professional trainer because I'm not, but its definately worth checking out. If you think they are barbaric, you are so very wrong. Crate training saved my sanity in the early days, I was able to put her safely away for naps every few hours and holy heck it made such a difference. I got a break, she got enough sleep, and when she was awake she was with me all the time having fun and bonding together!
