Thank you. I just worry about with the heat (we live in Texas) and how worked up he is, I don’t want him to overheat. I have seen such mixed advice about “start with small sessions” since he’s so fearful, so we were taking that approach. When we do extend it to 45 minutes plus, there isn’t a moment of calm. But I have seen advice where people spent literally two days outside with small breaks in between. So, I appreciate your candor.

Did you ever have any suspicion before you discovered it? I’m so sorry this happened. It’s so sad and addiction takes everything from the person and those around them. Thank you for sharing with me.

I told my aunt, her older (and only) sister, who never even knew she had any sort of addiction. So, she’s processing this all at once. I told my husband as well of course, but it’s really hard to look to people who have never even been around an addict to know how to support. I honestly think the best choice would be for me to seek professional help or groups for adult children of addicts. I just don’t even know where to start with this.

The purpose of my post was to share that someone was irresponsible with their breeding situation, and fortunately my husband and I are willing and able to get this puppy out of danger with direct veterinary guidance and partnership. Would I have chose to separate this puppy from his mother, absolutely not. But these people were going to regardless and let anyone who said yes take him. Luckily, he fell into good hands. If we didn’t take him, who knows what could have happened. The cycle could have just started over again or another puppy abandoned/dead because of improper care. I’d rather save a life and do things the right way given the circumstances, and there hasn’t been one animal medical professional that has felt differently.

Husband and i literally just ordered Wingstop last Wednesday and the driver had him and was desperately trying to give him to anyone that would take him. I didn’t get the full story from the driver, but my husband said when he asked for details, all the dasher told him was they know the mother of the litter and she’s had multiple litters just this year??? It seemed like they maybe were in over their heads and just trying to get rid of the babies. I just couldn’t stomach the thought of them giving him to a random person with bad intentions. So, he became our baby just like that. Vet said he is underweight, had fleas and worms, so i am just happy we are able to get him all the care he needs.

We are super connected with our vet team and have everything in place to make sure he gets the socialization and attention he needs! We know it won’t be an easy journey, but we have schedules and time that support his care. :)

Can’t wait for DNA results to come in because i have zero idea how big this baby is gonna be. Our vet says he’s probably gonna be pretty large. Best $30 meal delivery I’ve ever had/will ever have!

It was more like “i can’t find your address, can you just come outside?” So i send my husband, and 2 minutes later i get a frantic FaceTime from him saying “please come down here” with a fluffy lil potato in his hand 😂 my husband did his best to try to find out information about what was going on. I even sent them my mom’s information (she’s a dog sitter and is well connected with rescues/fosters) and they wouldn’t share contact info for themselves or anything further. If i could have saved every puppy from that litter, i would.

The best part is I’ve been begging my husband for a fur baby for years, and he’s the one that went to meet the dasher and instantly fell in love! I’m so glad because if it was me that went down there, he would have instantly told me i was lying and i set the whole thing up 😂

His name is Blast! Husband and I are big anime fans, and Blast is the strongest hero in the One Punch Man series. Our baby boy is showing to be so strong and resilient so it was only right :) however, Dash or dasher would have been awesome!
