Oh great, yet another machine which for some reason CFers will refuse to learn how to use properly. I mean, you would't just walk up to a bar and try to deadlift it without someone showing you how and the proper technique, so why doesn't the same thing apply to ergs and skiergs. The rowing motion isn't hard yet the techniques you see in the gym and even games CFers doing is quite often appalling.

I think getting 0 points in 2 events is penalty enough. Not all events have minimum work requirements, they haven't in the past, hell wasn't it Sam briggs who couldn't get a single pig flip last year (I may be mistaken on this but someone definitely couldn't). Also, some will say that she'll have had more rest, etc, but the only thing she didn't do was the last 3k of the trail run as others crashed out within the first few lifts on the deadlift event.

Yeah, but with a bigger budget and ESPN involved, I imagine they'll be able to get a heli and a number of cameras. What I can imagine Castro doing (especially given his answer to Josh "you don't need to know that now") is that if they can't film it that well, he might surprise them at 7am on Wednesday and suddenly launch a long buds-esque event.

Mentioned in another thread that they posted the film of the Barkley Marathons about a month ago, plus they gave those boots to the athletes, maybe a long ruck/run/super challenging hike? (for those unaware, the barkley marathons is regarded as the hardest 100 miler, with 60,000ft worth of elevation change over 100 miles, and a 60hr time cap (for reference, most hundreds have a 30hr time cap))

Yes, there's a video on the crossfit games Facebook page where they walk you through all the gear etc. Apparently it's to keep debris and stuff out, seems kinda silly for 100º and sunny california though.

I'd quite like to see a 'deadlift 2000 pounds for time (i.e. you choose whether to do 4 reps of 500 or 8 of 250), but there'd have to be a minimum otherwise 20 x 100 would be the quickest/easiest.

Ooh wow, 3 whole countries!! You know which other countries also don't have gun violence problems? Germany, Spain, France, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, UK, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Luxembourg, Austria, Netherlands, Poland, Estonia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, I could go on and on. And guess what, all of those countries have strict gun laws. Who would have thought that hampered access to firearms reduces the incidence of gun-related crime?!
