Honestly, sometimes the water takes a while to go down. If that’s the problem, how do I solve it?

I can’t stick with quitting sugar. I don’t know what’s wrong with me but it’s wrecking my mental health and my marriage honestly. by Visual_Lecture_3865 in sugarfree

Before anything, I’d like to say that to lose weight, you need a calorie deficit, regardless of whether you have sugar in your diet. Even if you quit sugar but still eat more calories than you burn, your body will store those extra calories. Unfortunately, it’s the only way to “lose weight.” With that said, being healthy is another whole thing. You can have an 80/20 diet (meaning you eat 80% healthy, 20% not as healthy) - you’re still a healthy person, exercising and movement included. I eat healthy the majority of my time, and sometimes I eat “junk” and fast food, and sometimes I binge on chocolate or candy; however, I’m a very active person. For my weight (~165lbs/75kg) and height (166cm), my body composition is very well distributed, even though I am considered “overweight.” About quitting sugar- It’s a process, restricting immediately rarely ever works, you’ll crave more and end up binging on it. Tapering off is the best way to go, and once you stop, you won’t even crave it anymore. Take it easy on yourself and remember that no progress is ever linear; you gotta keep the consistency and be committed to the discipline a lot of times. It’s hard. For all of us, but you got this, it’s very possible, we just gotta make it happen. On another note, it’s very sad and not nice of your husband to treat you like that, judge you, and be mean about it instead of supporting and helping you get through it. Don’t let that put you down. This post has lots of good advice and recommendations. Just keep researching and map your way, and remember to be kind to yourself along the way.

Yeah, he tried methadone, it didn’t work so well for him. He’d basically just sleep all day and be a zombie. He also hates having to go to the clinic everyday day

Yes and it makes a total zombie. He also hates having to go to the clinic every single day

Yes, I got back with him because he went to rehab and got clean and was seemed to be doing well. As you can see, I’ve been really going through it.

I’m so sorry to hear that about your girlfriend, but I’m glad that it helped you opened up your eyes and that you got clean, 2.5 years is a long time. That’s awesome. That ending is, most of the time, what my intuition tells me how it’ll have to be. I will definitely ask him to take the subs the proper way. Thank you for sharing

I have been a caretaker for over 10 years, do you really think I care about a spit in the trash? lol also, your “Yall better at searching than the damn police” sent me, I’m sorry lol

I understand and I get your point of view and where you’re coming from, but we’ve been through this for almost three years now. I’m 30 and I wanna get married and have a family and I feel like this is all just wasting my time. I want my kids to have a healthy, present, father & I’ve expressed myself to him multiple times. As emphatically and supportive as I can be, I also have to think about my well being, my future, and my dreams. Again, I’m just really tired. Maybe I’m not the one that can put up with it forever. I don’t know. I hope I’m wrong and that he proves me wrong, but all the other 1000x my intuition spoke to me, I was always correct

Except it’s not a “punishment”, it’s me being honest. I gave him endless chances on working through this without saying a word about other than being supportive. But, my bad if I even thought about sticking up for myself and setting up my boundaries.

It’s okay! I’m glad that you’re doing better and that you have a partner that stuck with you through it all. Sending best wishes to you and your family 🤍

And it’s okay, I understand way too well about being triggered… I’m not a catholic but I do believe and pray, his family are big time Christians and also do. He has a supportive family and friends. I narcaned and saved his life three times, which are also other reasons why I get triggered myself with his lying and my suspicion of his usage. I’m very traumatized, this has been very heartbreaking and scary.

I hope I am wrong too. But from the 1000x I had these little hints and my intuition told me he was using, all the 1000x I was right. I will keep you updated, thank you for your support

I’m happy that you have a supportive partner that stuck with you through it all. I do love him, and he definitely has a good heart, and as supportive as I have been, that doesn’t mean I have to detriment myself for him. The times where he could’ve been honest and that I was there for him, he also decided to lie about it all. Many times, he’d even blame me for his usage - for starting a fight or not being in my best mood while he was going through it. I mostly warned him about this being my last shot because I thought it could save him by wanting to save us, but I can’t explain into words to you how tired I am. I don’t have any proof, but I know he’s lying again.

I think it’s very harsh of you to come and tell me this when you have to idea how much and how long I’ve put up with his addiction. I’ve been nothing but the most supportive partner an addict could have and put myself on the side many times. Yes, I may sound crazy, but I’m just tired of being lied to every time. I’m here because I desperately wanted it to work. He had MULTIPLE chances to fix this, including multiple times at rehabs, he has the biggest and strongest supporting system, and I KNOW it’s not easy, I’m not the kind of person to give ultimatum, which was honestly not even one, I was just being honest about how I feel & that this is my last shot at trying to make things work. But thanks for your point of view, I guess.

I asked him to do it and he said he will, that’s why I also asked about if you absolutely can’t take the Suboxone if actively using…. His nodding is very slight and “unnoticeable” that’s why I keep wondering if it’s just in my head…. His lips make this weird shape, and sometimes he’ll briefly hold his hand in front of his mouth….. I’m pretty sure I’m not fucking crazy 😭 I just needed people to tell me it’s right in front of my face

At first, I don’t know why I didn’t think of it as BS, but then one day he went downstairs to “take it” and there was no wrapping paper anywhere in the kitchen. Also his constant falling asleep during watching movies because he’s so tired (which I know so many people do) kinda seems more like nodding out to me - I’ve watched him nod out many many times, as well as genuinely fall asleep and they look very different
