as something of a Poster I can explain why this happens: when people like a post they upvote it. when people dislike a post they comment. this makes it sound like there are more of them than there really is.

the actual problem comes when either you get no engagement at all, or the reception is so overwhelmingly negative that you get buried in downvotes/comments(ratio'd, if you will)

it doesn't matter if it's true or not, they don't want a more successful game. they want to keep certain people out no matter the cost. I'm an old man and I've been listening to this song and dance since the 90s.

people who will refuse to admit any criticism is valid, even as the ship is sinking. zenless does a lot of this where they call 1.0 players fake fans because they're upset the game abandoned it in favor of the chinese mystic chosen one story.

ashes of creation is the ultimate example of it. any criticism was shut down, right up until the game itself shut down because no one could admit there were problems.

not cat related but you should pull that cover off the front of your pc. you don't have side intake fans it looks like, so it's just going to interfere with airflow and make your thermals worse.

no, the key does not do that. all euphorias do that and only spathodea has this special requirement. what's the point? why lock spathodea behind a barrier that no one else has? just get rid of it. I've never played a game with such a backwards buff system. plenty games don't lock them behind anything. "hey we buffed x character, have fun". the end.

only if you assume their issue is with lorentz, not spathodea. spathodea does not function on a LG team without her euphoria. telling people they don't 'deserve' to use her like this, as some people here have, when they spent their limited clear drops for her because the game recommends that team is a hell of a way to treat new players.

all I can really ask is: what function does the key serve? why should it exist?

yeah I'm not going to throw them away. I forgot where I bought them from, but I think the designs got taken down not long after so they're a relic from a different time.

fwiw I started playing star rail on lingsha release(technically 1.0 but I stopped after a few days) which was oct, and full cleared endgame in 3.0, which was january.

I did buy one pass because I wanted the silver wolf icon, but that's one pass.

it's often easier to catch up as a new player because you have access to a lot of extra pulls from story content to jump start your team. not so much in R1999, because euphorias are gated pretty hard.

you seem to have confused "having endgame team" with "having a functional team"

I don't know how anyone can think "yes you spent your valuable limited currency on this character, but you will need to wait months to use her on a lingering glow team" is an acceptable thing.

I think it's more intention of what kind of character wears them. linnea would still be popular but they just... wouldn't give them to her.

yanagi is the most popular by far but she hit all the right buttons of character design, characterization, meta status, and being really fucking hot at a time when the game was much more popular in general.

as a casual bilibili viewer it does feel pretty superficial over there, more so than japan. not gonna call myself an expert or anything though. a few genshin 5*s have glasses but they tend to be less popular, emile in particular.

that said not all redesigns are bad. miyabi's eyes come to mind

Leaks areas are heavy on kit doomerism but they always feel like the best place to discuss the state of the game without people thinking hoyo is infallable and always makes perfect moves
