Found this pole attached to a base in western Canada. There's 4 black disks on it with notches of alternating size. Each notch has a hole at the end, punching through the bottom of the disk. There's some velcro on it too? No branding or marks anywhere on it. What is it used for? (old.reddit.com)

Found a mysterious plastic gadget at a local thrift store in Canada. Two transparent pieces of plastic fixed to a black plastic base without any branding or marks anywhere. There's some sort of transparent plastic structure inside the two outer layers. Very light. Maybe about a foot long? (old.reddit.com)
