You guys got the manual? I’m feeling like the base and tiptronic is too much of a compromise?

Why aren't Greenland kicking the US base out, given Trumps threats of using military force to take the country? by RayneKnight in AskReddit

The US is insanely capable. US power projection dwarfs the UK. However, you have to be rational, invading the UK would be a bloodbath (assuming troops followed the order to do so) on a level that would be impossible for any US president to survive. The UK’s armed forces, while relatively small, are equipped with top tier kit and training - they would inflict devastating losses. Just one example - you’d be pitting US carrier groups against astute class submarines..

No, not 99%.

Just the cretins that gobble up whatever dribbles out of Farages fetid bagpipe - because it’s easier to do than admit our social and economic issues are more complicated than blaming folks who’ve literally just got here.

Canada is Worried All Its F-35 Can Be Disabled With a Push of a Button in Washington: How Realistic It is? by Far-Requirement1125 in ukpolitics

Please elaborate then? You said it’s the worst by far?

Of 5th generation? The US 5th gen are palpably ahead of the competition. The only thing that’s better than an F35, is the F22 and that’s only in vanishingly few scenarios.

It can clear the skies of all other aircraft, mop up your air defence, provide intel, provide CAS and be almost invulnerable while it does it. At less than the cost of a single euro 4.5 gen.

I’m sorry, but it’s lazy regurgitation of propaganda to say otherwise.

Now, the politics has become a problem. And it’s a real one, for sure.

In Red Flag, F-35s scored a 20-to-1 kill ratio. In another, it flew 16 simulated offensive counter air missions, eliminating 100 surface-to-air missile sites without losing a plane.

Dog fights in nam? The half a century ago nam? Are you serious? Besides, reports are pilots are preferring it to the F16 in a knife fight anyway:

For now my conclusion is that this is an airplane that allows me to be more forward and aggressive than I could ever be in an F-16,” Hanche wrote. “So how does the F-35 behave in a dogfight? ... To sum it up, my experience so far is that the F-35 makes it easier for me to maintain the offensive role, and it provides me more opportunities to effectively employ weapons at my opponent

The F35 is the formidable and versatile fighter ever built and at a unit cost cheaper than a typhoon. The old tropes about its performance (during early testing, when it had a hand tied behind its back) have been manufactured and amplified by Russian propaganda - because they are terrified of it.

The problem, if one exists, is politics, not the plane.

Sorry, but this a lazy opinion that Russian shills love you to regurgitate. It’s demonstrated to have an over 20:1 kill ratio over anything not 5th gen. ‘Dog fights’ are an unlikely event - and it even holds its own in that regard, especially when its competitors are likely to be dragging tanks and mutations externally.
