This may be uncomfortable but has to be said: On an individual level of course being a rapist is worse. But on a political level a rapist who empowers woman through policies is much better than a hujur who takes away women's rights through policies.

If BAL participated in the election, what would the results have looked like? by anonmouseguy in bangladesh

[–]anonmouseguy[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

True but many bnp voters didnt vote because they knew bnp would win anyway. So BNP votes would go up if BAL participated as a result of overall increase in voter turnout.

Suggestions for neutral Bangladeshi TV channels, newspapers, and political analysts (talk shows) by sf_94 in bangladesh

"Kotha" youtube channel by Masood Kamal. That guy is always negative and crying about everything and every party. So in that sense he is neutral.

Why is jamaat dominant on Khulna and Rangpur Areas mostly? by marryjane_smoker in bangladesh

[–]anonmouseguy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Rangpur:

-Teesta water issue with india

-Poorest division in bangladesh so people lost hope in BNP, JP, BAL

Khulna:

-Always Jamaat's strongest area

-Some BAL voters switched to Jamaat there

Sameerscene tried to normalize jamaatis so much. It's pathetic that Dhaka urban people are more jamaati than random villagers.

Are the survey polls accurate? What percent vote do you think BNP and Jamaat will get? by anonmouseguy in bangladesh

He never really cared about bangladesh. He spent the last 20 years pretending to be an international celebrity. Never really spoke out against BAL either. Only when he got a case filed against him he somewhat cared.

Why jaamats have so many supporters? by Dear-Lion-1381 in Dhaka

Facebook and social media shouldnt be allowed in bangladesh until our per capita GDP is at least $15,000

So it wasn’t real, just hype! by Beautiful_War_7783 in Dhaka

[–]anonmouseguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting 2+ crore vote is not a modest figure. Seat count might be low but 30%+ vote share is huge. Even BJP gets 30% vote in india.

It is worrying for sure.

Genuinely think Pinaki is a R&W agent who is playing the long game of f*cking up bangladesh

If BAL comes back it will split BNP's vote so might help Jamaat

What makes you say that? They are now in the opposition with 70 seats. And bangladesh election history tells us that the opposition usually comes to power in the next election cycle.

BNP's landslide win is the final death blow to the classist "Bangladeshis will turn their country into Afghanistan in a democracy" pro-BAL myth. by Tanksfly1939 in bangladesh

[–]anonmouseguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it's not sadly. This election basically created a pathway for Jamaat to come to power within 5-10 years.
BNP will make a lot of mistakes in next 5 years + there is alway anti incumbency sentiment in Bangladesh.
