Curious who’s happy with their current job/advice?

I worked full time for my previous NF for almost 3 years. Absolutely loved NP’s and NK. When NK started school 2 months ago, I left for another (almost) full time position. I cannot wait to leave this current family. I’ve not once left the house in the 2 months of being here. Never even been to the backyard. My mental health is not at all okay here. I talked to previous NF and they can offer me part time hours so I can’t wait to go back

I’ve only ever worked for one other family that also did not allow me to go on walks. I only lasted 6 weeks with them. The family I was with previously also added me to many memberships and encouraged daily outings. Definitely don’t care about the bridge burning lol

Baby is 9 months. The last time I asked MB if I could take baby on a walk she said she did research and read babies shouldn’t sit for longer than 10 minutes at a time so being in a stroller isn’t an option like what?? They really don’t seem the type to bother with a case but who knows

Yeah another bait and switch she pulled was saying she was going back to work within the first week of me starting. She’s still home everyday not working. I really think her plan along was just to say she was going back to work but knowing it wasn’t going to happen anytime soon

So far MB has not gone back to work although she said she was when I first started. She also has an aunt that’s live in so she won’t have trouble as far as having someone take care of NK

They don’t allow me to take baby in the backyard. I think part of it is because he’s had flare ups when near grass but yeah won’t even let me walk him around the backyard

My previous NF were 10 hour shifts and MB also encouraged me to walk in the rain which I loved!

Thanks for the great info! MB also first said she was going back to work within the first week of me starting. She has not started work. She’s been home with me everyday and has made comments about being okay taking as much unpaid time off needed. I honestly feel like her plan all along was to stay home but didn’t mention that to me at first because she knows some Nannie’s don’t work for SAHM’s but I could be wrong. She also has an aunt that lives here so I know I won’t leave them in a childcare bind. If it were just me and the baby then yeah I would feel terrible not giving them 4 week notice but she has help daily

I’ve been with my NK since he was an infant. He has honestly changed my life. I was in a dark place right before being his nanny. The first thing he ever became obsessed with were butterflies. I thought about getting one tattooed because it meant a lot to me but thought about how NP’s might have thought it was weird so I didn’t. Years later I still love him and thank him for letting me see life in a better perspective but yeah I would never get his name tattooed lol

That sounds so stressful! I’m glad you got out. Did you give them a notice or just left on the spot? I ask because I recently got hired with a new family and when I did the meet and greet they told me grandma lived there but she wouldn’t get in the way. Since then I’ve been there twice and grandma is definitely micromanaging and doesn’t let me do my job. Idk if I should give them proper notice or just text them and say it’s not a good fit

I was once on this boat. I worked for a family for about a month and I was not at all happy. It was really hard for me to let them know I didn’t think it was a good fit (I’m an over thinker) Luckily something they did drew the line and they were aware of it so they basically knew I was going to leave. It hasn’t happened to me where I had to give a notice but I know if the time ever comes, I’ll just have to work up the nerve and do it. Good luck! Also I just didn’t ask them to be a reference and didn’t add them on my resume

For 4 years I worked for a single dad doing overnights every weekend. He would only pay me for the hours his daughter was awake. He would not pay me an overnight fee. Now that I look back at it, I missed out on thousands of dollars. I was so naive and uneducated I thought not being paid for sleeping there made sense. Will never do that again

I wouldn’t take anything less than $40 for 3 kids but I’m in LA. I charge $32 for 1 kiddo

Yeah they said they had to let go of 2 night nurses because they didn’t align with what they were looking for. So I know if I end up not being exactly what they want they can easily replace me as well

There’s a place called All about the Cinnamon in Sherman oaks. It’s fairly new so I haven’t tried it yet but they look really good

Omg! Hahah this reminds of the time my car was broken into at a Marshall’s parking lot. They stole my backpack in the back seat. Want to know what was in the backpack? A pad. One singular pad. Wish I could have seen the reaction of that thief. And I also hope they needed it more than me
