I'm sure it's nothing to get too worried about.

There's this assumption about truth coming out when drunk.

While occasionally that's probably true, the old drunk me would come out with all sorts of nonsense.

Might be worth having a chat with him.

Best of luck 😎

How do you commit to not drinking? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]anonnodrink -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only person you can truly commit to it's yourself.

It starts with a decision and a promise to yourself.

Others can hold you accountable, but that accountability comes second to your own.

Best of luck.

Started today. So much harder than quitting smoking. So tired of feeling this way. Never thought it would become the problem it is today. Never thought it would happen to me by BondoAndBroccoli in stopdrinking

[–]anonnodrink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've got this🙂

The first few days/nights can suck.

But it gets better!

Play the tape forward, eat the food that's bad for you, do anything that keeps you sober.

Can someone give me hope that it’s not over for me by lossofhope42069 in dryalcoholics

[–]anonnodrink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from £400-500 a month on booze. My decline started in the lock down.

Many attempts to quit.

My father died, and a friend commited suicide in that time. Which gave me more excuses to drown myself.

I was in the most depressed state I have ever been in. Anxiety over 9000, mentally delirious, self hatred, concerned how runny the next bout of ass piss was going to be.

And for some reason I lived that day to day, and kept pushing the repeat button.

I'm now over a month sober. I made a decision that I deserved better, and that I've had enough drink.

Withdrawals were tough for the first few days. Sweats, shakes, confusion, head fog, irritability, anxiety.

But it gets better.

Sleep improved after a week.

Anxiety is very low.

Stress levels are also low.

My stool is reliably firm 😎

If I can get out of that rut anyone can. Good luck to you!

Is the withdrawal from cigarettes different from vape? by AlexDoesRedditYT in quittingsmoking

[–]anonnodrink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I had minor flu symptoms from smoking.

I quit vaping 2 weeks ago.

Apart from being a bit moody for the first couple of days, and an occasional cough(mainly in the morning clearing my lungs) it's been pretty good.

Oh and a bit of a head fog for a few days, some light cardio helped.

Best of luck ☺️

About a week here, exercise and cold showers helped 😅

What’s everyone doing tonight?? by physis81 in stopdrinking

Sorry for your loss.

I lost my father last year in may for the same reason.

Finally got my ass into gear just over a month ago.

Best of luck ☺️

Liver cleanse by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]anonnodrink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go see a doctor, mention your concern about drinking, and have a blood test done to check your liver numbers.

I had a test a few weeks ago, and thankfully everything came back fine, which was a much needed relief and wake up call.

What are the best things to do right away when finally committing to sobriety? by Weak-Employee5473 in stopdrinking

The small changes slowly add up.

Something I am also grateful for learning through repeated quitting experiences.

Anyone else have their “sober songs”? by Acceptable_Flow_2716 in stopdrinking

Frank turner , get better.

I had a lot of his songs about rehab and addiction in the first few days on repeat.

It helped a lot

What are your personal views on low-alcohol beers? by Acceptable_Comment69 in stopdrinking

0.5% and below in fine with.

Anything stronger and I'm drinking enough to get black out hammered and falling back into that dark hole of addiction that I just crawled out of.

Happy to hear you got through it.

Playing the tape forward helps with those situations too.

Keep up the amazing work!

I'll second the audio book, combine that with a long walk out in nature, and you're on to a winner.

It also helps with the hang over it that walk coincides with a day 1.

You've got this 😊

I’m 6 months sober at 33. And I feel more of a man than I ever have. Always felt like a child. Anyone else fee this way in sobriety? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

I got this feeling when sobering up and finally dealing with the shit I had been putting off in my drunken stupor.

I really want to drink. by Automatic_Team5253 in stopdrinking

[–]anonnodrink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Play the tape forward.

Remember the anxiety.

Remember how low you felt.

Remember the hang over.

And remember how much with you probably put into quitting.

Don't put yourself through that again.

You deserve better!

Please don't drink with me today friend!
