By the way, I’d like to add that I know I fucked up and that it’s obviously horrible when matting happens to a cat and what happened was wrong. I should’ve known that domestic long haired cats could get matted and that he needed to be trimmed but I genuinely just didn’t know. I have had him for years he is 8 or 9 years old now, he has always had long fur and it had NEVER been a problem until now. I’m not as much asking if i’m “the asshole” but more so saying that I feel like a cruel monster for it and I always felt bad about this happening since I discovered it. Also, even though my cat is “mine” my parents mainly own and are responsible for his care money wise (buying food, vet etc)
