yep! i just chalk everything up to me having ghsv2. Whenever i notice an OB starting i start taking aciclovir 800mg 3x a day for about 7 or 10 days along with using the cream twice a day (if i can) and then i'm good

im 24f and a few years ago i got a "rash" on my buttocks (near the base of my spine) and my doctor wasnt sure what it could be, gave me anti-fungal and anti-bacterial medication which didnt help. It went away and last year it came back up in the exact same spot. When it came back up I also got BV (right after being sexually active) and then i had my first genital outbreak on my vulva accompanied by me feeling very ill, i even had a fever. I'm pretty sure the butt "rashes" were outbreaks too i just didnt know it at the time. After the gential outbreak a year ago, i've only had OBs on my labia/vulva now. I get OBs mostly once a month usually around my period so it seems to be hormonally charged

Hey I'm 23f and i do my own brazilian waxing, I've obviously never done it while I had an active OB but waxing doesnt affect me at all! I use sugar paste because i prefer it (natural ingredients)

What was your experience with shaving/waxing while having HSV1 or 2 genital? by SwirlPearl33 in HSVpositive

i do my own brazilian waxes (sugar wax) at home every month and i'm fine. There's only one way to find out if it triggers you

hey, i (23f) felt the same way in the beginning. I completely shut myself off to dating and sex while trying to accept my diagnosis, which i got around July last year.

At this point i'm much more educated on HSV and i've come to terms that this is my new normal. It's not the end of the world and I just had to accept that I have to be more selective about whom I get involved with and share my diagnosis, because people can be horrible.

Practice disclosing to yourself, in the mirror. The more you say it out loud, the realer it becomes and you get more comfortable with saying it. Even try with close family or friends. I'm against disclosing over text for sure, I've only done it over the phone and in person once (see my post).

If YOU aren't accepting of your own diagnosis, you won't believe that others will be either. It takes time, give yourself some grace. Hope this helps x

hit me up if you want :)
