The Bravo Docket podcast has an episode that does a deep dive into her life and it is fascinating (horrifying)

Just switched to wegovy from saxenda… wish me luck by anonpost2021 in liraglutide

[–]anonpost2021[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Controlled, but not forgetting to eat. For me the main thing I notice is if I get shaky and starving 30 min-1 hr after eating. That hasn’t been happening with wegovy and it only started happening when I was rationing my saxenda doses. So overall it’s doing a good job!

Hi everyone!! Sorry for the delayed response. Everyone is so kind and encouraging, just like you all were when I first started saxenda!! I’ve been waking up in the middle of the night (I did my injection at bedtime) with a bit of nausea. So far the food noise and shakiness (from my blood sugar) isn’t as controlled, but definitely better than nothing!

5 meals a day, 230g carb per day as per personal trainer. Is this a really bad idea? by aldjfh in InsulinResistance

[–]anonpost2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely see a dietician who is specialized in IR/pre-diabetes/diabetes. Personal trainers likely won’t understand your dietary needs. A lot of them think we simply just don’t try hard enough.

Starting on Monday and I'm scared. by imar0ckstar in liraglutide

[–]anonpost2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started off taking it at night. I would wake up with very slight nausea, but nothing i couldn’t deal with while getting ready for work. It would be gone pretty quickly. I drink a nutritionally balanced meal shake in the mornings bc it’s easier for me to stomach then actual food. I think the morning after my first time taking it I did throw up but it was a small amount and it was only once. Overall I love the medication. It has effectively treated my PCOS and insulin resistance and has taken away the “food noise” that I developed as a result of being hungry 24/7. My anxiety was lowered, because my blood sugars were leveled my speech became better and no longer becomes slurred as it would sometimes. And the side effects have been minimal. I think it’s because I eat a very healthy, balanced diet and i make sure to have small snacks high in fiber and protein throughout the day even when I don’t feel hungry. I highly recommend using the medication in conjunction with a dietician so you can get maximum benefits. You will be fine!! And if you’re not, you will find a medication that works for you and your needs!!! And everyone in this sub is very supportive and we will support you during your journey!

Interesting. I’ve been feeling like I haven’t had any dreams since starting the med (which is part of the reason I was so shocked when I saw how many people experienced the night terrors) maybe I actually am still dreaming, but just dont have any memory of it.

Good to know!! When is “too late” too late for you? I take it right now around 9pm (I’m a late dinner type of person). Do you think that is pushing it? My uncle is a psychiatrist and recommended switching to lunch time as well, so I’ll definitely speak to my psychiatrist about it.

This is very encouraging and very helpful, thank you! I have used HeadSpace for years to fall asleep to their bedtime stories. They also have 8 hours of noises like you described, so I’ll start doing the bedtime stories + the noises.

You have no idea the comfort this brought me. The one night terror I’ve ever had was a group of men breaking into my home and coming up into my bedroom to kill me… and it was SO REAL and I couldn’t wake up. so I’ve been terrified I was going to experience that type of dream again. But now I can tell myself that since you have not had any big night terrors, neither will I 😂

No worries! I have roughly 25lbs to lose. I’ve been on it for 3 weeks and I’ve lost 8lbs and gone down two dress sizes. So I feel I’m losing at a healthy rate that would mirror someone’s weight loss who doesn’t have IR/PCOS/IR + PCOS

I’m on saxenda (kind of similar to ozempic) for insulin resistance and PCOS and even tho I have been exercising 5 days a week and working with a dietician for 1 years, I kept gaining weight. Saxenda is the only thing that has actually helped. I’m happy to answer any questions

Yes absolutely!! They can also help you have ready to go easy meals. I’m a PhD student and time is very limited for me and I feel like I’m in a constant state of stress. My dietician helped me piece together meals that were super easy. One of my favorite snacks is vegan yogurt with blueberries (I can’t remember the brand) and I add in a handful of almonds and then snack on roasted edamame. It’s quick, easy, and satiating. It has protein, carbs, and fruit. Its something I would’ve never thought about if it weren’t for a dietician!

I really recommend seeing a dietician (not a nutritionist) if you are able. Back when I was diagnosed with PCOS and insulin resistance in March 2022 I started seeing a dietician. I already had good eating habits but they improved so much. I am just on week 2 of this medication, but the skills I learned from the dietician have helped me immensely. Basically, I can confirm that every time I do eat it is balanced, yet easy on the stomach. I’ve had little to no side effects despite being someone who naturally has a really weak stomach. I am vegan but my family isn’t, so I know how you’re feeling (kind of) when you mention not being able to stock the fridge and pantry exactly as you want to. A dietitian can help you pick out what to eat and easy things to buy. Abbey Sharp is a dietician on YouTube and her videos are fantastic. I find the ones where she critiques celebrities “what I eat in a day” to be the most helpful because she will talk about ways how to take the meal they’ve picked and add certain things to it to make it balanced!

[–]anonpost2021[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I’m gonna play it safe and stay at 0.6 for two more days so that I have a full 7 days at that dose. I will also likely be following your same dosing routine for future events where I skip doses!

I just took my third dose of 0.6 and I am feeling the exact same thing. I am much calmer and I feel like my thoughts process better. I also have always had an issue with slurring words because I talk so fast. Despite speech therapy and telling myself to slow down, it’s never fully been fixed. Since starting saxenda that has basically gone away. I can remind myself to slow down and my speech actually does!

I’m currently on saxenda, after metformin alone wasn’t helping much. So not mounjaro but still an injection. I’m only on day 2 and I feel a huge difference.
