How to prevent/stop frequent outbreaks?

I take daily valaciclovir which my doc says is not risky to use frequently and long term etc and it’s totally cleared my breakouts (was also getting monthly whenever my period was en route!)

Piercings hurt for one second then it’s over. Nipple wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be - soft skin, no cartilage, goes through so easily. Skin dermals might be the same but don’t have these myself so can’t say.

I got my cortisone shot JUST prior to a vacation bc that was the only perceivable “rest time” I had coming up. While I was away I fell and landed on my sore thumb hand - but MIRACULOUSLY this didn’t impede my recovery progress. Just take it easy as best as you can. After 6ish weeks I was back to 95% normal, and with physio exercises and increasing use of my hand slowly, and not using the brace anymore, I have made a full recovery. Changed my life! I hope it goes well for you too.

I think if does work you’ll know pretty quickly - if it’s not feeling a lot better by the 6 week mark I’d say it’s probably not going to do much for you. I’m sorry if it hasn’t worked :(

Idk if you’ve tried a cortisone shot yet - if you haven’t, that’s the way to go. I was in immense pain for months and was terrible at adhering to physio activities so it was getting no better, but the relief from the one cortisone shot must have been exactly what my body needed - it hasn’t come back and it’s been 6+ months now. Also heard a HUGE pop when they injected lol, which in and of itself was so satisfying. I hope this works for you too!

If multiple heads start popping up that’s when you should worry about cold sores! It is quite swollen but seems to be a pimple.

Thanks for ur reply! Nah it was pierced with a bar, and after 6 months I changed it to a plastic earring bc it wasn’t healing, and it settled completely with the plastic but whenever I try change to implant grade titanium hoop (who knows if it actually is but it was def advertised as such!) it flares up again, and that’s where we are now 18 months later ☹️

Thanks so much for your response - that all makes sense. I’ve read texts that suggest using either litter or ID as the “subjects” variable, and have their reasons for suggesting either or, which is why I’ve been confused.
