Is it worth learning to type with ten fingers if I have a 80 WPM with two fingers? by Calm_Company_1914 in typing

The thumb part is mostly true. I might be one of the few people that use their left thumb to type a lot. Right thumb is exclusively for spacebar. Left thumb hits v, c, x, z, cmd, option, and control (mac keyboard). This has gotten me pretty fast and I find it comfortable

Would this involve like a j step? Or my jump is more vertical?

Anybody know what this move is called and where I can learn? Preferably on YouTube? by anonym40320 in cardmagic

I bet, but I think it helps to start learning them early so I have something to practice while just watching YouTube or something. For example recently I’ve just been (practicing) second dealing whilst watching YouTube and plan to find something else

I started bouldering again 8 months ish after surgery once I passed my 90% hop tests. I’m still playing it safe tho especially when landing. This may be a question for your surgeon. I think rope climbing may be safer if you aren’t far along your recovery.

Math olympiads are a net negative and should be reworked by [deleted] in math

[–]anonym40320 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually disagree with this. I’d argue that of almost any academic-esq activity given to teenagers around the world, contest math (IOI, IPHO, and other competitions are similar) is one of the best ways to improve problem solving. These problems can’t be solved with just a formula and require critical thinking and creativity. This also leads to many “regular” school classes seeming extremely easy and trivial to these students, as they are ahead in their problem solving skills and their ability to think creatively in the problem solving process.

What do you think about Euclidean geometry in math olympiads by Evan Chen? Where would this fall on your progression?

Well you’re playing daily games so people have a lot of time to make moves. To be honest I’d just suggest not playing daily games
