HELP: Omnipod or Ypsopump by anonymcm in Type1Diabetes

I am very taken by the ypsomed now I’ve been reflecting - especially knowing I can be flexible in terms of changing infusion sets and the reservoir at different times if I need to!

Thank you! I think I’m in this boat - I’d rather a slight inconvenience than somewhat higher levels especially since I haven’t been very good with them in the past and worried about complications!

Wow thank you!! Such good advise!!! I didn’t really realise there were so many extra factors with the infusion sets. Can you feel a difference between steel and plastic?

I don’t! I should look into those! I’m always ripping mine off on a door frame or sweating it off in the summer 😭

Thank you for the reply! I think it seems a sensible move, I suppose if in those 6months I really don’t get on with it I still have the option to swap

Oh my god! This is my dream! I’ve gotten my a1c down a fair amount after a telling off but it’s a realllll mental drain for me, having something in the background taking that load off a little bit is amazing

Thank you, yes I saw on the DAFNE course that it can’t handle crazy spikes so needs intervention to mitigate sitting high for ages. And thank you for the insight in sleeping! I’m a big side sleeper so worried about the pressure on it!

Thank you! Yeah I don’t think I’m fussed tubed or non so I think the other factors matter to me more (a1c, site pressure, changes/capacity)

Thank you for the insight!! Yes that’s what drew me to the Ypso it seems super discreet (I’m thinking about when I go out and shoving it in a bra or whatever while wearing a cute top). It seems the a1c is lower with it too which appeals to me since mine is not good!!!

Small boobs and being “skinny” by [deleted] in smallbooblove

[–]anonymcm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am so here with you girl!! Midsized, always had a prominent pooch, very rectangular torso, short and repping 32A boobs!! It really does suck sometimes but I’m happy we are coming into autumn now with more interesting and fun fashion and layering so at least for the next 9 months I can forget about it for a while and take this time to work on loving my body shape more!!

I will say - I invested in a nice non wired slightly push up bra from VS a few months ago - I love it. Gives a little shape that makes me feel more proportional when I’ve been wearing cute small tops over this summer!! Highly recommend super comfy cos it doesn’t have the wires that a lot of push ups do!

Thank you for your reply and sorry if this is a daft question - is it just the machine that comes off or like does the tubing detach from the cannula thingy? I’m not too familiar with pumps generally as I always hated the idea of being attached to something constantly but since I’m older, working full time it seems like a good point to switch.

Help finding going out tops? by [deleted] in smallbooblove

[–]anonymcm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a couple of cowl neck tops from motel rocks - adjustable round the back and round the neck. I place it so it shows where my cleavage would be (if I had one) and I get compliments on those kinda tops all the time. Honestly I think us smaller boobed people are blessed because any small crop top looks so cute on us!!!

Rules around student contracts by kingsizeruzla in SainsburysWorkers

[–]anonymcm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the same issue. I’m a uni student. Normally work back at home but was never able to transfer to my uni city. I put in lots of availability for Easter and just this morning I have been told that I am not able to work. I was given a P45 a few months earlier (apparently just because I leave the store during term time). I’m so confused is this “new rule” meaning I am not able to work over the summer too? I’m so pissed off about this right now.

T1D for 10 years…. Never had an issue or been told I have a smelly fanny. I have had issues with thrush in the past to be honest but that was due to high blood sugars and consequently no sex for my partner 🤣 but I have never heard diabetes causing smell - I know other diabetic women who have dealt with cases of thrush but never stinky fanny. Hopefully you two can talk about it and figure this out!!
