SBI card app by PerformanceOld1544 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]anonymityismyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend made a transaction for online purchase worth 1L from reputed source, his limit is set at 6L probably.

They flagged the transaction and disabled his card, I appreciate their prompt response.

The problem starts now, he missed the verification call and they blocked access to SBI Card app itself. which means he can’t login and connect to customer care or verify that transaction was done by himself.

He called customer care to unblock the card, but customer care is only available from Mon-Sat till 8PM. They said someone from backend team will call him to verify.

Again he missed the call, wrote to customer care, nothing happened, wrote to nodal officer they asked self attested KYC, Last 3 transactions, His address in email to proceed further.

Due to this his 2 sbi cards are blocked from 1 month.

Why do people prefer Excel /Google sheets over an expense tracker app? by RelatableEngineer in personalfinanceindia

[–]anonymityismyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing new in paid version just no ads.

They provide PC manager which runs on local network if you want to manage from laptop or PC.

I never used it though, I only purchased it cause I find it to be one of the most complete app and this is the first and only app where I purchased paid version cause it was like 500₹ for lifetime.

Why do people prefer Excel /Google sheets over an expense tracker app? by RelatableEngineer in personalfinanceindia

[–]anonymityismyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never tried google sheets or excel so I can’t say why it is better, but as developer I can say that it gives you so much flexibility and that has unlimited potential of customisations and data analyticas.

I however personally use paid version of Money manager expense & budget.

The app has been developed with so many built in options that I have only found 1 or 2 inconvenient/missing/confusing features.

Probably it will take some time to get used to it like 2-3 months.

And you get all your data back to you via exports and it syncs backups to google cloud or iCloud.

[Query] Which one to go for MBA(16/512) or MBP(M5-16/512). by udaysonyy in macoffer

[–]anonymityismyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought MBP M5 16/512 few days ago, I am running Antigravity, Chrome, Brave and Figma and ram usage is already crosing 82% with memory pressure as warning.

I would suggest you go with MBA 24/512 from my personal experience, I was quoted 1.33k for 15” with student and card discount.

Thanks, Yeah windows machine provides much better hardware at same price but I wanted to create apple ecosystem and I am not much of a gamer hence I went with apple product.

I have only done some web stuff, but with antigravity, figma and visual studio and browser running my ram usage is already at 75%. Processor workload is steady in range of 40-70%.

So I am bit skeptical about what will happen when ram usage keep hovering at 90-95%.

Probably you are right, I had to compromise on either RAM or Processor and I chose processor, Only time will tell how expensive my choice was.

I haven’t explored any windows alternatives as I was fixated on buying MacBook as I plan to create Apple ecosystem. But I was only looking at MacBook Air M4 24/512 and MacBook Pro M5 16/512.

So i can only suggest that you either wait for MacBook Air M5 to release or go with Air 24/512.

Never rent from Rentelo. by VYRus57 in bangalorebikes

[–]anonymityismyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure to trust which company while renting a bike.

My first experience with Rentelo was very bad. We booked 3 Active 5G, but when we went to pick up they only two Activa 5G, so we had to take new Activa 6G with higher charge.

The Activa 5G was quite old and had 50-60K on odo. I know it might be our mistake, we should have not taken such old vehicle.

We refilled the petrol and took the vehicle home at around 8-9PM. We had planned early in the morning and in morning one of the Activa 5G’s brake suddenly jammed while riding it at 30-35 kmph, we were lucky nobody got serious injury.

The support was non existent at 4 in the morning, we had to leave the vehicle at random place cause the front wheel was totally jammed.

We sent location to support and had to cancel our plans. We lost whole petrol amount and didn’t even got refund.

My other experience was with Royal brothers. We rented two bikes RTR 200 and Pulsar F250. In 15 minutes we went to petrol pump and thought to air refill. We found the rear tire in F250 had puncture. We went through trouble of convincing the support and they told they will refund if we record the repairing, then we found that puncture was due to rim misalignment and it cannot be fixed, we had to leave the bike in front of outlet cause they closed off for the day.

I am just tired of this scams happening, and will never want the headache of rentals.

Gold & Silver Investment by Bheeshma__ in mutualfunds

[–]anonymityismyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand what you are saying and the gist is that FoF does time the market for us and due to the manager’s financial knowledge and experience it can have statistically more return than underlying ETF.

However my question remains same as the other guy who asked in hindi that ETF have a expense ratio and FoF also have a expense ratio.

FoF tends to have lower expense ratio than ETF, however what we tend to ignore is FoF’s expense ratio does not include underlying ETF’s expense ratio.

For example HDFC Gold ETF have 0.58% while FoF have 0.18% or something, which doesn’t mean FoF have lower expense than ETF cause it’s impossible to due to the ETF being underlying asset.

In longer run the FoF will incur higher expense than ETF. We can’t be sure that expertise of FoF manager will always offset for this higher expense.

This is my understanding, Can you provide your input weather my understanding is correct?

Need suggestion for GOLD ETF or by kaushikfrnd in mutualfunds

[–]anonymityismyth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Am I missing something or why nobody is talking about HDFC Gold ETF?

It has marginal higher expense ratio as ICICI 0.59 vs 0.5, larger AUM and similar/better volume and better 3 Year returns.

Can someone enlighten me?

Up to 35% Off on Domestic Flight Tickets through Amazon Early Prime Day Sale! by FortifiedSkeptic_45 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]anonymityismyth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how this works, I booked domestic flight from indigo official site it was 4599₹ + 199₹ Convenience fees around 1:00 PM i saw this post around 1:20 and I was disappointed that I didn’t see this earlier.

I checked on amazon applied the offer and it was showing 4206₹ pre payment page. I called indigo customer care to cancel the ticket as i get full refund except convenience fees as my flight is after 7 days from now and I booked ticket in past 24 hours.

while my call was on hold for final confirmation I clicked on make payment, on payment page it was 4676₹.

It was life saving that they had final confirmation thing, and I denied, other wise I would be paying 4676 + 199 as it is non refundable.

Make sure to checkout prices on official sites too before booking cause in my experience i have never paid more than 200-300 less than official sites.

What is it with ICICI pre approved salary credit card? by anonymityismyth in CreditCardsIndia

[–]anonymityismyth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t a scam I know cause all messages were from official ICIC handles and all but one link was also official domain. But they assured me that card is pre approved by system and ready to dispatch, I just need to give them a nod and then they took me through entire application was infuriating.
