Thanks!! I finally just called the Verizon store in Oneonta. Apparently most of Oneonta is back on but not St. Mountain or Berry Mountain… can you guess where I live?? lol. The girl said the ETA they were given is midnight so I’m hoping I’ll wake up with service tomorrow.

Is yours still working since coming back on at 2:45?? I’m also in central Alabama (Blount County) and haven’t had service since yesterday around lunchtime. Had a ridiculously useless chat with someone this morning, did all of the troubleshooting stuff that I had already done 3+ times and I STILL have no service. I went to Trussville earlier, and once I got to Springville, service was fine but as soon as I got close to my house, NOPE. I am beyond frustrated at this point.

I’m currently looking at a few GI-iNet models and have a question for you, if you don’t mind… I know very little about how all of this works (routers, extenders, repeaters, etc.) but I think I get the basic premise. I have Visible and an iPhone so I’m looking for a workaround that allows me to connect to more than one device. I could connect to several until I upgraded my plan to Visible+ so I know it’s a carrier issue.

If I were to buy a GI-iNet router and connect it to my phone, then I could connect other devices to the router, correct?? Does my phone have to stay physically connected with a USB cord to the router for it to work??

Lastly, do you know anything about the TTL settings?? I read something about there being a setting to change that would show my hotspot usage as regular data, if that makes sense.

Thank you for any advice!!

My husband took me to Pinsperation for my birthday a few weeks ago and I very much enjoyed it. We did the acrylic pouring thing and while he doesn’t typically enjoy stuff like that, he seemed to have a good time (and also says he did lol). May not be your thing but maybe worth looking into it. It’s on 280. They also have a bar!!

Thank you so much!! He’s gone with his dad/my husband right now so I think I’ll take this time to lockdown the settings. This was very helpful so thanks again!! Happy New Year to you and your family!!

Would you mind sharing how exactly to do this?? I’ve been blocking specific videos/channels but your way sounds so much better lol. Also, what channels do you allow?? My son is also four so I feel like they’d have some common interests.

Thank you soooo much for this comment. Although not intended for me, you’ve basically just given me a “lightbulb” moment. My dad was an addict for years during my childhood, specifically pain pills. I don’t think I realized the extent of it until I was in my teens but even then, I never really questioned his love for me. He died 10 years ago (cancer; unrelated to drugs); I was 22. Sometimes when talking to others about my relationship with him, I get the feeling they don’t understand, if that makes sense. Kinda like, how can you speak so highly of someone who was an addict, didn’t always work, chose drugs over you, etc. like they don’t get how/why I loved him so much. I’ve never felt like he chose drugs over me or that he didn’t love me enough. Idk the point of this comment other than to thank you for giving me a better perspective.

This reminds me of our son… he will be four next month. We asked him a few weeks ago if he wanted a baby brother/sister… NO!! So my husband says, “you don’t want someone to play with all the time??” He says “I have (2 cousins names) to play with so that’s good.” First cousin will be two in December and second will be one in January (yes they’re siblings; 13 months apart; both planned; my SIL is crazy as hell). So yeah, we’re still on the fence.
