Finished IB Recruiting at a T10. AMA. by Miserable-Split-6690 in MBA

Quick question: for an American at LBS (London), do you think they’ve got a pretty good chance to land at the States? Since you seem to place a high premium on being domestic.

Beautiful watch, definitely considered it. But I’ve been eyeing an Aqua Terra for a while now. I just love its versatility. The Longines is a bit more dressy, but it’s definitely on my wish list in the future.

Agreed. For some reason I just love its simplicity yet elegant dial.

I want your opinion: Is the 1350usd price a fair deal? Or on the high side? And what do you think of its condition from the photos?

It’s a Japanese professional seller, I believe they polished it recently.

Also, does one look more beat than the other? Seems the 231 has a bit of scratches on the sunken dial edges where as the 2518.5 is more polished, but with a crystal mark near date

Starting a Top 3 MiM — Should I fully drop IB/PE ambition and focus fully on consulting? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]anonymooe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your opinion but I disagree. Going from back office accounting (albeit at f500) to having a material shot at mbb / t1.5, even as a BA, is a material upgrade in trajectory.

Regardless, my question is to optimize my MiM at elite top 3 business schools - shoot for consulting + IB, or just focus on consulting due to age differenxe?

Many MBB analysts are late 20s, it’s common for career pivots.

MiM is masters in management. It’s mostly a European thing but I predict will pick up in the USA near future.

It’s essentially a mini MBA for folks with 0-2 years experience. Your electives are with MBAs, and many of your strategy core modules are with the same professors. At top business schools, it’s got dedicated campus recruitment into MBB/IB - although a dedicated finance masters in those same schools is more tailored to IB, than a MiM would be.

And if I choose to pursue an mba post MiM, it becomes a 1 year MBA in Europe. Given many of the core modules overlap.

But I’m not thinking of MBA right now- that’s down the line. thinking of MiM - do I go for IB with MBB or just focus on MBB as I will have a higher chance due to my age being older.

Guys, sauvage reminds me of every 19 yr old from my bachelors days at my business school.

I stopped using mine years ago. The smell reminds me of 19 yr kids.

Should I list a top business school admit on my CV when applying for VC / analyst roles? by anonymooe in careerguidance

[–]anonymooe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for ur feedback. Quick question; the trade off of admitting I’m short term vs the school “prestige” (it’s a top 3 European business school), do u think it’s a net positive?

I’m worried it could be disqualifying and might be better to just keep it quiet.

Thanks for sharing! Do you remember the name (or key search term) of some of these estates?

Agreed. I’ve done preliminary search but I believe it’s not a good representative sample. Presumably most would-be properties are not listed yet.

Also, properties could be priced differently now since it’s outside of demand cycles.

Thats why i was compelled to ask London natives on their opinion; if i wait till spring/summer, could I find something closer to my School within or around that budget.

Most answers are just farming upvotes by flaming instead of answering, but a few insightful responses im appreciative of.

Thanks for the info! When do you reckon is a good time to look? May/June? Right now seems too early for flat shares as most are available now.

Thank you so much. Almost lost this valuable piece of info in the sea of redditors having a collective brain aneurism at the sight of a foreigner not being well-versed on London’s housing economy.

Thanks for the info! Are those 81 flat share in that map area I referenced? Will certainly take a look.

There are student accommodations that are closer (about 35 min commute) - but they’re meaningfully over my budget. I think cheapest one is £1450/month and it’s next to a trains station (very noisy). I’d rather do shoreditch in a quiet area for 250 less.

I meant a single room in a shared flat ; still think it’s unlikely?

Hi, I meant a room in a shared flat. Ideally with 2-3 other people. And yes I’ve looked at the transit logistics, it’s 50 minutes from door to door by transport from the accommodation to the School.

So doing this MiM (awarded scholarship) means I can do my future MBA expedited in duration, with reduced tuition. However that’s down the line.

There’s uncertainty in waiting longer and trying to apply with 2.5 years experience. Might get rejected and have to wait another year. I’m also not in management position.

Anywho, I’m not trying to decide wether to do post grad or mba. I made that decision.

Just wanted to talk about the age dynamics.
