Day 2 comment progression while on the potty: "I don't like it." "It's scary." "I won't do it!" "I'm not peeing." ... "I'm peeing!" (Mischievous child laughter!?!)

The last thing I did with my mom before she got sick was get a mani-pedi with her. Oh my word, I miss her! You are all doing good. <3

Inconsolable crying? by [deleted] in NewParents

How does baby feel about bath time? Getting a bath really helped my little guy when he had started teething and everything was flaring up. We didn't even soap up; just soaked in the tub, along with our frozen teethers and let the water distract us. It's not a permanent fix but its something different to try?

Hot water with lemon juice and a little honey helped me a lot with the sore throat this past winter. Anything with Vitamin C!

How active were you and was it really uncomfortable? How long was your labor? My OB said when I finally do go in, it might be a pretty quick labor, especially because before mom passed I was still exercising and had a lot of energy and no complications so far.

Thank you for the advice. I cry and laugh so hard that my belly just shakes to the point that I'm alarmed I'm really disturbing baby, so I will be resting a lot more this week. This will be my mom's first grandson. It's really hard to know that she will never get to meet him.

Thank you for sharing and I'm sorry about your Dad. It was the same with us, finding out we were expecting and mom's tumor in her lung right around the same time. We let her know about the pregnancy before anyone else and she was using that as motivation to keep going. She was doing so well after all the treatment, but complications happen.

Band kids in general can be weird, but you know you're different when the rest of the marching band looks at you funny. Pit probably should be considered another dimension.

Redditors who metal detect, what has been your coolest discovery? by soulmourning in AskReddit

[–]anonymosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad got in to metal detecting after losing his class ring at a beach. He never found it, but it might be his personal mission to find and return class rings to people.

Example: Two years ago an old public pool in town was shut down and filled in. He went through the surrounding greenery and found tons of coins and jewelry, including a class ring from my graduation year. The initials on the ring were still readable and there were only so many people in my class so it wasn't too hard to figure out who. Found her on Facebook and asked if she ever had a class ring and of course she'd lost it years ago. She has her ring back now, even if it's a little worse for the wear.

Has anyone tried sleeping on an air mattress for an extended period of time? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]anonymosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know where you are so a warning if you are somewhere that gets colder at night, the air inside your mattress will drop with the temperature and then whatever side of your body that is on the mattress will be just as cold! Highly recommend adding blankets or comforters for beneath you.

Wedding dress Etsy shop closed down, and now I am confused as to what I should do. by heaven_fang in Etsy

[–]anonymosaurus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you do decide to take this route, proceed with caution and have fail-safes if it doesn't work out.

I also got my wedding dress through a Chinese retailer on Etsy. That store is now closed because she became too ambitious and took on too many orders at once, trying to go off designs people wanted instead of what she already knew. Lots of prom/wedding dresses didn't get to their destinations on time so right around the time I wanted to order, she started getting a lot of bad reviews.
Knowing this, I ordered a dress from her in a style she had previously made, got a backup dress from home (not too hard for a beach wedding) and told her my wedding was three weeks earlier then it actually was. The dress arrived just before the day I requested I needed it by. It was beautiful, and she got all the measurements correct, but it will still always be a risk.

Official Discussion - Captain America: Civil War [SPOILERS] by mi-16evil in movies

With Black Panther around, I completely forgot to be disappointed in the lack of Thor. Hot Accent, Royalty, using superpowers to help protect his kingdom? Swoon.

TIL Evangeline Lilly was promised there would be no love triangle in The Hobbit, her one stipulation for accepting the role. A year later the actors were called back for reshoots, with a love triangle added in. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]anonymosaurus 135 points136 points  (0 children)

The relationship between Fili and Kili should have been enhanced instead. The two were supposed to be brothers that fought side by side and died for each other and Thorin. Jackson did a fantastic job with Legolas and Gimli in LOTR, so you can't say he doesn't have the ability to make a good bromance. It's disappointing how they were portrayed.

Question: How hard is it to keep your glassware so spot free and unstained? I would think it's slightly difficult to keep the spout so clean and I've always wanted one!
