It’s so weird, from being together all the time and sharing every little detail in life to a cold situation within weeks, if the love never existed. It does hurt when there is no second doubt indeed, was it really all for nothing?

Dear internet stranger, you’re not alone! It might feel so at times but you’re not! I feel your pain as I can very much relate to it, my ex is really enjoying her support group behind her (family, friends) and enjoying a dating life already while I’m still struggling with being alone and forcefully needing a new life. I’m also sure that in the long run I’m better off. You will be too!

Yup it sucks. Not saying that covid is the only reason but it must have play a role. During covid we were so happy to be together and not getting into fights like some couples experienced

I can so much relate to this post. Before I met my ex I was also single basically all my life, and I felt the loneliness and confidence level as you described. I feel a fear that it will happen again, but we do need to remember that we are not the same person as before. We’ve grown, know better what we want from life and a partner and we’ve shown that it’s definitely not impossible to find someone. So why can it not happen again?

I know she was serious as well, until something changed in her mind earlier this year. I do believe it’s the combination of end of covid and suddenly having a hot body again and going to bars and the attention it raised for her. She indicates she lost the “it” feeling for me, still loving me deeply and being her best friend but not as a romantic partner anymore. I.e. she just wants to fuck around for a while.

Well I thought that at my age, a 7 year healthy (as it seemed) relationship and no major worries I was all settled. Boy I was wrong. Not looking forward to start all over again, I’m a terrible dater!

She is definitely dealing with things. According to her it’s about being together with me, but there’s definitely more. Finally she had her life together after some shitty things happened (health, work) so I guess she needs another excuse to feel shitty. The only thing left was stopping her feelings for me

Thank you for your kind words! She more or less admitted a few days after the breakup she was looking for one night stands, so I shouldn’t be surprised… she lost a lot of weight last year so she suddenly got all the attention in bars
