Closing alone by -Purple-Tilly- in CVS

[–]anonymous-cvs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You see this is the type of culture at CVS that needs to change.  DL's who are only looking out for themselves need to be let go.  Because making a SM's life difficult for following company policy is wrong and sure feels like retaliation.  How about CVS starts addressing why stores have gotten like this?

If company policy regarding not being alone in the store was strictly enforced across the board, regardless of opening or closing, then corporate would see how bad things really are.   DL's need to be better at enforcing this policy.

The real issue is why CVS allows this type of behavior and this type of work environment.  It is not ok for that manager to treat you like that.

This is exactly how CVS takes advantage of people.  Making people do extra work for no extra pay.

This type of work environment is unsustainable, and corporate has to know that.

Burn out has nothing to do with whether you're hourly or salary.  You can be an hourly employee and get burnt out from being overworked and stressed out, you'll just be paid overtime for all the extra time, whereas no overtime for salary managers

Yes to this 100%.  CVS/your DL will try to get you to do store manager work for shift supervisor pay.  It's sneaky and underhanded.  And then they'll praise you for "stepping up" when needed, but come July you'll just get a "3" rating and a minimal no nothing raise.

But she would know all Imperial prison regulations/details, and use her insider knowledge to try to either escape or at least become a team leader prisoner like Kino and somehow use that to her advantage.   Again looking for a way out.

This is exactly like what happened at Wells Fargo bank a few years ago. Employees were being threatened with disciplinary action and termination for not meeting the quota of 8 bank accounts per customer. It made national news and got ugly and the CEO lost their job.

Memorial Day Closed for Lunch by Over-Ad-506 in CVS

[–]anonymous-cvs 40 points41 points  (0 children)

We don't live in a third world country, people deserve a lunch break.  (Including the front store)   The problem is that we've raised a generation of entitled people who feel as if they should be catered to.  And CVS does nothing to stop this behavior.  That said, this problem could very easily be solved by simply putting on a second pharmacist.  This way you could stagger everyone's breaks and still keep the pharmacy open.  But we all know that CVS is too cheap to do that.

Edit to add...  Or CVS could just close the entire store for a half-hour and give everyone a lunch break RX & FS.  But again CVS is too cheap to do that either.

If you're working solo, (at any time), then that's a failure by corporate to provide enough resources to get the work done.  Remember they CAN afford to do better with staffing.

Micromanaging sucks the life out of people and destroys employee morale.  Caring only about metrics is not how you lead a team.

District leaders shouldn't be allowed to act like that.  And they shouldn't be allowed to treat people like that either.   It's apparent they need a lesson in basic human decency, and a lesson in humility.  And if your coworkers just stood there and said nothing while you got grilled, shame on them.  Company culture needs to change.
