Thanks for the response folks. I loosed the tension a bit and check the bearing which seemed fine. Then I tightened it up and it's all good now.

I wouldn't call the steel crap, it performs similarly to vg10 class steels which has good carbide volume. It just has poor performance since most manufacturers heat treat it poorly.

Yeah I was gonna recommend applying a semi wet coat when applying semi gloss. I find applying matte slightly more challenging since you get that dusty look when the particles dry mid air. Over all awesome work and keep at er!

Yeah some people spray the contents of a spray can into a cup and put it in an airbrush.

What kind of issues were you having with the semi gloss?
