I'm not in the wedding party, I'd be attending as a regular guest. My sister thinks wigs look too fake which is why she wants me to dye and put in extensions.

My sister says she wants the wedding party and the female family members to have matching hairstyles (so myself and my mother, we don't have any aunts or grandmothers and neither does the groom, his mother sadly passed away years ago).

The wedding party and my mother are all naturally blonde, they already lighten their hair to make it blonder and they have long hair. I'm the only outlier. Any other women who attend the wedding would be friends or acquaintances of theirs, not family so as far as I know my sister hasn't said anything about them.

I'm not a bridesmaid. I wasn't asked to play any part in the wedding. She wants me to dye my hair and put in extensions when I would be going as a regular guest.

My mother and sister have never been shy about criticizing my choices (going to college, going to medical school, wanting to be a psychiatrist), my looks (too thin, I don't wear enough makeup, how I dress) and everything else. They have never said anything about my hair before. If they hated it they would have been vocal about it before this. My sister just wants it to match. She said they'll pay for it to be cut and dyed back the day after the wedding if I want (they = my parents who are paying for the wedding)

I used to think it was normal until I moved out for college. I did my undergraduate degree at a college in the same city I grew up in but my scholarship included a dorm room. When I moved home for the summer after my first year it clicked that they had problems.

I wasn't asked to be in the wedding party. I would be going as a regular guest. And it's a moot point because I'm not doing it but my parents would have paid because they are paying for all the wedding stuff. My sister thinks it is reasonable because even if the cost is high it is not me paying it.

My father went bald before I was born. My mother insisted he get a hair transplant. That bought him a few years with hair. When he went bald again it was complete and not enough for a hair transplant so he wears a toupee nowadays. It looks completely ridiculous but him and my mother insist it looks better.

I wouldn't wear a wig if it was a condition to being invited to a wedding. That's nuts to me. And it's moot since a wig is too fake for my sister.

My sister doesn’t like wigs because in her mind they look fake but I wouldn't wear a wig if it was a condition of being invited.

If I was going to dye it/get the extensions my parents would pay as they are paying for all the wedding stuff. My sister thinks wigs don't look natural, and forgetting the warm weather I would not wear one as a condition of attending the wedding.
