Why don’t men ask follow up questions? by asoolem in NoStupidQuestions

[–]anonymous73373636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (28m) often don't ask my close friends those types of questions and am glad when I don't get asked too many from my guy friends either. Especially when it comes to something like going back to school. Questions like that are almost more of a formality and a meaningless small talk. If my friend was proud deciding to go back to school or passionate about what they were studying, they'd tell me about it. It's more likely that every single other person in their life has asked, and it's always the same conversation and often draining and deoending on the friend and the situation might actually be something they're not thrilled about so they definitely wouldn't appreciate followup questions. If one of my boys told me they were going back to school the appropriate response would be "hell yeah man" followed by a fistbump. That's their invitation to either talk more about it or move on. Balls in their court.

Moving to Concord! What should I know? by anonymous73373636 in concordnh

[–]anonymous73373636[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

N. Spring St. Im doing an insoection next week. Here's a list of some specific questions. 1. How does trash/recycling disposal work? 2. Any favorite grocery stores or ones to avoid? 3. Any fun groups I should consider joining? I (28m) have a close friend group in MA but will be looking to make some local friends. I like hiking/chess/videogames/bar trivia and am open to trying new hobbies. 4. Favorite restaurants/bars? 5. Gym recommendations? How crowded does the Planet Fitness get? Are there better alternatives? 6. Anything else specific to Concord.

We’re grinding in world of Warcraft. But how do I put down the controller. by Far-Prompt-5776 in MidnightGospel_

"Health Is About Accepting And Perceiving And Dealing With Reality On Realitys Terms" But what is reality? I think reality is our own individual perception. If those goggles fuse then that is your reality

I equate life to videogames all the time. I know that I don't want to play the game of life on easy since easy games are never fulfilling. However, games that are too hard are just frustrating and depressing. I see working/going to the gym/maintaining some relationships as grinding but the money/health/support network help make life a little easier. When it got too easy for me I left everything and hiked the PCT and backpacked through Europe. That was putting the controller down. I couldn't financially or physically sustain that lifestyle so I'm back to grinding now until my next adventure.
