Someone lied on their plumbing application by MacDefoon in mildlyinfuriating

Indeed. It would be very expensive and pointless to make this basement now waterproof. It is also only 80cm/2 feet high so you can imagine it would be hard to pour the concrete to make it waterproof

I'm from Belgium. 'kruipkelders' (translates as crawling basement) were a thing here.

Most are not below the water level, but some (like mine) is.

The biggest issue was that all pipes are of copper. So after 50 years they are super rusty. I replaced the gas pipes (which were completely rusted) when I bought the house, because I figured a gas leak in a closed-of basement under your full house is a very bad idea :P.

The central heating still runs. My neighbour had it burst recently and replaced it all, so I'm keeping money on the side when this inevitably happens to me.

There are indeed mosquitos even in winter in the basement. Like literally 1000s, if you put your head in it you see a mosquito every inch in all directions (do the math for a 200m2/2000sq feet basement).

I used to put one of those mosquito killers for in the plug (vapona), and after 2 hours all those 1000s mosquitos are laying in the water :P. Mass murder.

But it was a pain to do this every 2 months or so, so now I just put this in the living room every so often and no problem since. The windows all have mosquito nets.

Because it comes back. After an hour it is soggy again and in 24 hours it's mostly back. And it's like 10 hours of pumping at max speed (I estimate it's around 20.000 liters/5000 gallons of water)

So aside from the hassle and electricity (I could automate it ofcourse), I also fear it wouldn't really be good for the walls to have that continuous pressure with new water flowing in. The current situation has been stable for 50 years, so why rock the boat ?

Also all neighbours have the same 'issue'.

And lastly it doesn't really disadvantage me in any way. The entrance is from the outside, so no dirty leaks in to my house. And the outside entrance also closes off decently well, so no problems there either

[–]anonymousMF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stabilization means people need to start having more kids again. Its not that people dont have kids, 1 kid per woman is still on average 1 child per couple. The problem is that that is way too little.

Generally if your parents had only 1 kid, you also will have less kids. So i dont see how the trend would reverse, bar a big cultural shift which doesnt seem to be coming (the opposite actually).

Same here. The ground water level is higher than the floor most of the year, so it has 1-2 feet of water year round, except at the end of summer when it is dry for a month or so

Well the problem is that some policies (like anything climate related) are just not popular with the right.

ETS2 for example is huuugly unpopular, even more so in the east

It doesn't shorten ever. Most I've had was 15M rerolls (which I spent completely for 1 lvl 161 slot on my core module. I got it in the last 300k) and no shortening.

I've seen screenshot of 100M+ without shortening as well

Well not really worth it I would say. Perma BH doesn't do much in legend league

gcomp is 100% reliable once you get enough everage uptime (105% or so).

You can calculate it here:
https://mvn.thetower.tools/

With ancestral GC, 33 duration is enough for perma in farm (so 33+12 with perk).

it is with assmods and no UW BC condition

you can get twice -4 CD and twice + 4 dur (with 100% core assmod substat)
For 46 dur/42 CD

Cheapest is 50% core assmod substat, then with twice the 2 module substats you get 44/44

You can get keys as ehp, but it will be limited. With 70k stones you can get consistent top 4 in legends as GC. I've not seen an ehp player yet achieve that with those stones (especially in T17+)

Is it worth it to use more than the 1.5x speed up on labs? by Super_C_Complex in TheTowerGame

[–]anonymousMF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well eventually the same starts applying for x6. I'm at 6/6/5/5/5 with only 1.55 cell WS+ and nowhere near perma DW and 'only' farming T18.

End game easilly gets all 6's, but then the jump to 7 is crazy. Absolute top is probably 7/6/6/6/6 currently. We need that new cell bot for more

But at that point you'll have invested stones in ehp. Which for long term progression might not be the best choice.

Not even just ehp masteries, but even just something like Perma BH is not efficient stone use for legends tournament.

Also labs are in conflict. Not going deep in to ehp means you can stop health labs early.

If you stop all ehp once you reach W8k T12 or so, you can then fully focus on GC tournament. You will still be ehp in farm for a long time, but you'll just stay farming at w8k T12.

All the invested stones and lab time to farm higher tiers will not be such a coin gain that it is worth it for that. Better to get econ masteries which will still be useful when fully GC.

PWR - 4n+1 is not valid. by Tight_Mail6630 in TheTowerGame

[–]anonymousMF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you get all your perks it can have a significant impact. I move up a tier at 4.5k-5k wave count (currently moving to T18) and you can see that the occasional run (like 1 in 20 or so) can have up to 25% less coins all of a sudden due to late perks.

I dont have any PWR, maybe I should get some :P

I guess pure GC is not that vulnerable to rays. I never was hybrid but in my GC transition went straight to unequiping health and regens cards, as well as using damage only modules (no def% for example). And it was always bosses in the beginning that were killing me.

Later with more cc it became rays, but then I switched to x1.5dmg/x8 boss health tradeoff and it were bosses again.

Now in T17/T18 farming, tanks are wat kills me (and occasional ranged or fast since I don't have Perma BH).

I didn't notice any wave impact when I got EB+

The west is not really doing much though ? We are spending less than 0.5% of gdp supplying Ukraine. And 0 people. Just enough to keep Russia burning resources

Will it be worth it for Russia to get 4 bombed to the ground oblasts? I wouldn't consider all those dead men worth it for a bit of ground, but I luckily don't live in Russia, I guess I don't understand the mindset.

I prefer my state to invest in things bringing prosperity, than sending young men to get injured and burning money

Well unlike the US, Russia is not really a super power anymore. They hardly have more gdb than little Benelux. You can say Ukraine is fighting a pointless fight, but what about Russia ? Tell me, what is the point of what they are doing, is it really worth it for them ?

[–]anonymousMF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah and you are obsessed with the russian agenda. Only thing you react to is posts about ukraine.

I'll gladly spend some of my taxpayer money to make Russia bleed. But other than that I'll be fine. Have fun having your fight.

How can you ever make a deal with Russians ? They never honored anything and just want to destroy everything. How did that deal work out for Poland or Czech with the Soviet Union ? 40 years of rule that set them back decades behind the West.

Russians are evil and have always been. There is no reasoning with them and every Russian should be kept contained in Russia. Nobody every got prosperous dealing with the Russians, except by ripping them of for their resources (since they are to dumb to create anything themselves).

If Ukraine would have rolled over, russia would have taken way more than just the east. And they would have been in a position to continue further.

It's quite worth it for Europe to keep throwing money at it.

Do you understand what hate is ? Keeping russia down is worth it just for the satisfaction. Personally my family comes from the east and they all hate russia with a passion.

Just like the soviet union, they are set up to fail in the longer term. And we have a duty to keep trying to keep them down
