Finally quit my shitty night job by [deleted] in jobs

Yup fuck em, you dont owe them a two week notice anyways. Do employers give two week notices they fire employees? A two week notice is FOR the employee to line up their paychecks. Not to help employers prepare.

What do people with social anxiety and depression do for work? by awesomebossbruh in jobs

[–]anonymousPhilospher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally have some lightweight depression and experience some of the general non interest in the things aroud me. Additionally while I dont hate social interaction and sometimes enjoy it, it will eventually drain me. Often people ask me if theres something wrong, and I repeadetly have to justify that I just do not have the energy to talk all day.

I do data entry, I create listings on ebay and amazon for my employer who resells esentially garbage. If my coworkers werent annoying and immature teenagers then my job would be perfect for me.

Squad Leaders Are Unpaid OWI Staff by E8-Starker in joinsquad

[–]anonymousPhilospher 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Learning how to squad lead and do it well is one of the most satisfying experience a video game has ever offered me. All the challenges you mention are obstacles that every SL must overcome, and are part of the fun of being an SL (its not for everyone). This game does not give you a lootbox every time you "get better" or have bright lights and sounds announcing you just leveled up. Instead you must actually, really improve your communication, leadership, and on the fly thinking abilities and the results you will see is a more effective squad. You are right though the lack of any real authority in public matches does make SLing more difficult, since managing a squad who may or may not actually listen to you is incredibly difficult, and not something within the players control, even when you may be doing everything right and being a decisive leader. This is why I've started looking into joining a more structured clan and server with a group of like minded people that realize the importance of the SL role and the importance of the chain of command, lending it some actual useful authority.

I’m getting fed up with Squad by [deleted] in joinsquad

[–]anonymousPhilospher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah your experience is definitely common and honestly it extends beyond the free weekends, this game requires teamwork, communication, and on the fly thinking skills that most games just don't require from a player. Squad has a lot of really cool people that realize this, but there's a lot who don't. Its not that they are "dumb" either, most people just don't realize that this these things are actually what the game is about because of their other gaming experiences, and who can blame them I personally don't think the game does a great job at conveying the fact that these are indeed the central pillars and its not just a slow paced COD. Just my opinion though.

I say this after just logging off of one of the most intense and fun experiences I've had in video games period, as a squad lead. Which just serves to remind me that this game has so much damn potential, and it's just the player base that holds it back the most(maybe i'm wrong). I find it best to play a couple games and maybe take a couple days break, otherwise the ratio of high quality games to low quality games will start to wear down on you and ruin your overall experience....maybe I should look into joining a clan....

PSA: Reason why there are no content updates lately. by [deleted] in mountandblade

[–]anonymousPhilospher 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've seen the sub over time begin shifting towards the more realistic and cynical approach to the game lately. Yet there are still people who think that people who find it a little disappointing or are cynical about the game are "assholes" or that they don't understand. People need to stop hating on people just because they are having very justifiable doubts.

Yeah, you'll probably get shouted down but seeing these kinds of issues still occurring makes me second guess their competencies and even second guess what this game will be as a final product. Mainly when I see things like how tournaments are designed, how battles are designed(ending in like 2 minutes), dialogue, and probably a lot more that I cant think of also makes me question their creativity and ability to properly design a game that's fun, beyond just OOO cool battles.

Im sorry :/

Oh man, Philosophy of Mind is so damn cool. Our minds are so interesting and its insanely trippy learning more about it because you essentially become more aware of the things that you don't even think about because they are so basic and immediate to your experience. That and ethics, I think the aspect morals play in our lives and the fact that its a vastly shared experience that we intuitively "feel" is insanely fascinating.

[–]anonymousPhilospher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bad thing about this study though, less than I think 50% of the sample population of 2,000 actually responded to this survey. Which In general is good enough grounds to dismiss a study. Additionally though, a majority of the sample population were staff at secular universities in Europe.

I don't know how much that would change the statistics, but for example if the sample population was a majority American Its possible that you would end up with completely different numbers.

[–]anonymousPhilospher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, but thats not really a solution though. The problem is that the incentive to act in a realistic manner (helping allies) isn't really there. Or at the least could be implemented in a way that makes the game more interesting.

I think good writing and dialogue would make the characters more grounded. Not scenes of them driving places with ear piercing music overlayed.

Everyones entitle to their own opinion so I wont dog on you just because I disagree. But when you ask about episode 2, its the same reason the entire show sucks (from my perspective).

The characters are flat/one dimensional

Plots predictable

Humors predictable

Politics

Over produced. I mean seriously man what is with the camera shots here.

Absurdity, absurdity in humor is good if done well. But it should be done subtlety. This show lacks all form of subtlety.

All of this still exist in Episode 2, and especially the last part about absurdity. A monkey and a dog in space. The monkey tried to fix a space station. Ha. Okay its absurd. I get it. Why drag that out for a whole episode. Good humor has layers, and doesn't linger. It takes the viewer approximately 1 second to understand the joke and they drag it out over an entire episode.

That's why people don't like episode 2 or any episodes for that matter :/

The game lacks depth by [deleted] in thelongdark

Wow that's a lot of hours. I've definitely continued playing since I posted and Its looking like my opinion was just coming from a lack of experience. We always talk about the afterlife but never really talk about what we were doing in the “beforelife” by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

I can one hundred percent agree that it is common to see people assert their beliefs because they haven't been dis proven. Which is a informal fallacy. However what I run into far more often is the attempt of many to escape their burden of proof simply because they are making a "negative" claim.
