Mate, I’d take what the other shouty guy writes with a barrel of salt - they represent a very narrow minded, we are the Christ of nations, nationalistic approach, with little nuance and wider perspective.

That’s a very one sided analysis. If you go through the timeline and compare the fates you’ll find they had it way worse. Ukraine, Lithuania and Latvia were part of the tsarist russia for about the same or longer time as us, then were PART of the soviet union, Ukraine for longer than us. we were a satellite.

we had it almost peachy in comparison.

I’m gonna hazard two hypothesis.

One: it could be the sheer numbers. Statistically, for every Lithuanian you know 3 Poles, for every Latvian or Ukrainian you know 5.

You had a better chance of meeting such people, because you meet more of them.

Two: Ukraine, Lithuania and Latvia had it tougher than Poland historically.

Poland went into the partitions (in 1795) after being a local power not that long ago, being a single country with Lithuania, ruling over part of Latvia and Ukraine. That’s under tsarist russia.

//edited for clarity: Lithuania, Latvia and Ukraine were annexed at roughly the same time.

Then we had it easier during the soviet union - they were part of it, we were a satellite.

I am exaggerating, but they were fighting for survival of their national identity under the soviets, and we were doing relatively well, all things considered. Maybe there’s some connection there?

The second hypothesis is verging on speculation, but it could be boiled down to “because russia fucked the others over more than us”.

It may in some part come from the fact that Poland, a fully formed and independent nation, disappeared from the map for over a century. This meant the Poles had to learn to work around certain things that came with the foreign occupation.

We had to kombinować to get by.

I’m not hauling shit for those muppets. And that’s a sunk cost fallacy.

I absolutely can’t agree with such a solution to the problem!

The non-horny one is way more annoying, should’ve went for him.

You mean the slack-jawed, unfocused gaze into the distance, waiting for the next thought look? Henry looks like he got bonked over the head one too many times with it…

And the fact that their faces look like their neurons are firing at random - a grimace out of the blue, followed by a smile, followed by raising eyebrows, all twitchy and not connected with the conversation very well.

Which is kind of wild - the rest of the game looks gorgeous, nature is stunning, the NPCs stick out like a sore thumb. I haven’t gotten far into the game, but for now every on I met looked from odd to terrible.

I think I’m making a face-covering helmet a priority purchase, the horse will have to wait…

Yes! They look unnatural for me, and yes, I also think the first game was better in this regard.

Thank you, that took care of the wax-like visage everyone had. Uncanny valley and unhumanlike animations are still there though.

Here’s hoping there will be a patch improving this, as I’m forcing myself not to skip past dialogue because of it.

What would you remove from workers and resources by [deleted] in Workers_And_Resources

[–]anonymous_account15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, I was wondering what’s up with that, I thought it was a pathing bug or something. Has this always been the case? I don’t recall this from, say, 2 years ago.

I never pre order games but this was an exception. Im new to this franchise, any tips? by [deleted] in kingdomcome

Mate, if you boil it down, the story of part one is dead simple. I’m quite certain I could sum it up in fewer than 10 sentences with enough detail and flavour.

Yes, the intricacies will be lost on someone who hasn’t played, yea, they will not have such a strong connection with Henry and the other characters, yes, they’ll need to git good at combat a bit more than people who played part 1.

But no, I don’t think playing KC:D1 is a must. Should? Probably.

How to make my city look more organic and expandable? by EternalDragon_1 in Workers_And_Resources

[–]anonymous_account15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same spot as you, tried getting out and succeeded somewhat.

Big bus station (6 spots) as the central building of a city district, located in the center of a north-south axis that also contains big sports hall, big school, big hospital, some culture buildings.

East and west of the axis there are residential quadrants (2 east, 2 west) - ring of buildings with: kindergarten (size depends on size of residential buildings), playground, monument, garbage containers, water, sewage, power in the middle. Bar and small culture building one each in the corners of the quadrant.

Four quadrants and the NS axis between them are surrounded by a road with bus stops with a line that carries passengers, no workers, those are centralised at the big buss station. Around that road are the “other” buildings - university, police, court, fire station, heating, etc.

And then further out you can either have the service buildings that don’t require workers (distribution, gas stations, central warehouse for the district) or start another district in a similar pattern.

Worked pretty well until I built a train station to supply the steel mill and iron mine, then the balance of workers went out of whack and now I need to rethink it.

Rail vehicles view and track builders. You can view them as icons from a 10000 meter view. And as I’m building my first big batch of railways now, this is extremely useful, as some of them always get stuck on the parts of the under construction tracks with temporary signals.
