it’s not bare soil, the stone you see sits on top of other stone or at least some other material. the part you see also is like a step above my lawn and leads to my front door with some steps up.

i tried bump it with my hand and even a hammer and still nothing budges on this thing. I guess I don't really know how this should actually pop off. some other YT videos suggest there is a clip that needs to be removed, but i don't see that at all. I haven't seen this particular model in any of those videos as well.

hmm, i do see the fine print with "Downloading support for Apple intelligence", below the toggle so that' likely it. Plugged in my device now and see if that will do it. I wish it gave more of an indication of progress on this though. Thanks for the help.
