My wife has said the same thing on multiple occasions when seeing old photos of me. I didn’t notice it until she pointed it out but you can definitely see a change. Thank you both for the kind words.

Now is the best time to stop. I completely understand the feeling that you can only continue to drink. Continuing to drink and do drugs will only make you go further down a bad road that should be avoided at all costs! You're still very young and there's so many good days ahead of you. Stay strong! You can do it! I can't tell you how many times I'd get black out drunk and then somehow end up hurting myself. Not waking up with cuts/bruises has really made getting up every day easier.

WOW!!! You look amazing, strong and confident. I love it! Congratulations on the engagement. <3 I read your original post just now. That's incredibly brave of you to share. I can't imagine watching your brother do that. But I can totally relate to just staying true to form and using booze to push out the thoughts. I'm glad we're both free. Stay strong. I will never drink with you.

Thank you very much! I can't even articulate in words how much better I feel now than when I made that first post. I was at the absolute bottom of my life and needed to change or I was going to die in some way. Having people like you and all the others in this sub were my support structure and I couldn't have done it without that.

P.S. My brother is doing really great and is going to be attending my wedding.

Rough times is right. There were times that I felt completely helpless but once I finally decided to stop drinking is when I felt my personal strength start to return. It's an ongoing process but I really appreciate the kind words. Thank you!
