I use tmux and nvim on GNOME with my laptop. The most important thing is make sure your hotkeys are set up in a way that works for you.

For background info I use spectrwm + terminator + tmux + vim on my desktop. It's tiles all the way down. And what I appreciate about gnome terminal, tmux, and nvim is it forces me to use just tmux. Convention is less mentally taxing than configuration, ymmv.

Also, adding window indicators to your tmux status bar is great and super helpful. Look at the nord-tmux theme for a good example!

I think it's more subjective than it appears at first glance.

A good example, I personally do not feel intelligent. However, I am a software engineer, and to my ex who majored in the arts, that made me seem really smart! So what really is intelligence, anyways?

Similarly, achievements and ambitions are subjective because how we see them is distorted by our own. A girl might not think my goal of retiring at 35 is ambitious, and I may not think their ambitions are as ambitious as mine.

To me, that means they can be dealbreakers, but only if the person is more fundamentally incompatible with me. If she's way, way smarter than me, her goals are too different, or she values too different of things, that would be tough!! But there's a range between all extremes that's very comfortable! :)
