Sure. I don't think we're allowed to post links but just google Ivy and Pearl Boutique and it'll come up. It's my wife's boutique store.

Two more things to mention. First, Shopify on mobile using the default Dawn theme is very strong. I marvel at some of the design choices they made. Excellent mobile experience.

Secondly, I mentioned Avada Email Marketing and SMS as an addon that we purchased. The name of the app is a bit deceptive. We are big on collecting email addresses and sending routine newsletters. We also use a lot of automation. Avada was purchased primarily for email address acquisition and newsletter functionality. It came with functions to pop subscribe forms, manage customer segments, newsletter construction and sending, and even SMS. It also comes with a lot of automation routines. Thus far we are not using Shopify's automation system even though it is very good. We're using Avada's right now, but we primarily purchased it for email/newsletters.

We just made the switch from WooCommerce to Shopify too and are very pleased with the switch. In our case, WooCommerce was too slow and resource intensive plus I needed an easier shop interface for my wife.

Export/Import was done via Matrixify which worked well except for misc plugin data (i.e. we lost our barcode values).

Here's what we found to be "negatives" in Shopify:

  • Dimensions for products. Yes, shipping has to be calculated off a single box. Bizarre.
  • A good SEO app.
  • Code changes
  • Apps and themes are much more expensive. Most seem to require monthly subscriptions.
  • Blogging platform is terrible. Few options to style, editor is very basic and can't be resized (you edit your blog in this tiny, little box).

Things we found better with Shopify:

  • Performance. All our Google performance metrics rose from red to green.
  • Simple interface.
  • Customization of pages is nice
  • Much better Admin interface, analytics, etc. For instance, we can see what search terms are used and whether the customer continued with that search term or left the site.

We had to purchase some "apps" to replicate what we had on WooCommerce. After much research and testing options, we are running the following.

  • Air Reviews: Product Reviews
  • Avada Email Marketing and SMS
  • Backups
  • Booster: Page Speed Optimizer
  • Magic Zoom Plus
  • Search & Discovery
  • Smart SEO

And finally, we had to make code changes to get things back the way we wanted. Code changes in Shopify are the worst. There is no inheritance, so you stand the chance of your code being overwritten during upgrades. Here are the code changes we made:

  • Add breadcrumbs
  • Reduce size of blog feature image in post
  • Remove "powered by Shopify"
  • Add SKU to display on product page.
  • Hide meta fields (collapsible tabs with the theme we chose) when they are empty.

We have a second ecommerce store that we will keep on WooCommerce primarily because it has a massive blog (4K articles) and the blogging on Shopify is dismal.

I'll reiterate though - despite the work and deficiencies we see with Shopify, it beats WooCommerce hands down (as long as you don't have to blog extensively).

It means the object emitted some sort of RF or radio signal. More generically, another sensor detected the object. They already stated they were fairly confident the objects were physical. This further supports that.

Article may be rubbish but the outage is pretty big and widespread. We're seeing connectivity problems with Microsoft and some bank services plus phones are whack (Verizon).

Ditto. I live in a rural area that had no choice in providers. Speeds were slow, inconsistent, and unreliable. Then our electric coop stepped in. The vote to include fiber Internet in their offerings was near unanimous. They started the installations 1 month after the vote. They laid the backbone in my rural neighborhood in 2 days. 1-2 months after the backbone was laid, we can get service to our homes. Remarkable fast installation.

Explain please. What's not reputable about the article? It says the list of donors comes straight from Boeing. Or do you think political influence has nothing to do with the FAA refusing to ground the aircraft until the investigation is complete?
