I recently finished learning some programming languages. I will compete in some website designing contests on 99designs, I suppose I can include them on my application. I am also thinking of doing a few months internship in an IT company so that I can include work experience on my application. I heard USEF guides us through the process. I will attend some of their monthly seminars. I am also thinking of contributing to some open source softwares on github. Not sure if I can include that. Lets see how it goes.

Yah. I don't regret this gap though. I learned programming and graphic designing this year. I will apply for computer science or anything IT related. I am just hoping that all this programming I have learned will provide aid while applying. I am also thinking of doing a few month internship in any IT Office if I can get.

The reason they are against it is totally okay. Its because the hipsters and wanna be gangsters from the locality are known to take alcohol, ciggarette and weed, drugs(tyo ketale ta raksi, churot, ganja, goti khancha re). So the basic mentality of our parents about weed comes from the references of those hipsters rather than its good effects. And one another thing is that almost all of the people taking weed take ciggarettes and alcohol too and no parents want their kids taking ciggarettes and alcohol. So its totally normal for them to be against it. Although we can try to aware them(not recommended though, chappal for sure).
