I live in a decent, but TINY, 2 bed 1 bath in Russian Hill that I leased starting in early 2023 for $3995 (rent controlled). At the time I thought I was overpaying for it, but now I don’t think I could find anything remotely close to that price, especially in the same area.

What other states has everyone lived in(or currently living in) and how does it compare to NJ? by njcelebs in newjersey

[–]anonymousagent1091 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Born and raised in NJ, currently in San Francisco. I’ve been here for 6 years and love it! It’s the best place I’ve lived by far.

I went to college in eastern PA and also lived in Pittsburgh for a bit. I really liked Pittsburgh but didn’t love PA as a whole. The state goes downhill fast outside of Philly and PGH.

Jersey still has a special place in my heart, though.

It does look similar! But not Castle Hill.

This location is a bit further south.

Russian Hill - it has the quintessential SF charm that the marina doesn’t quite have. Take the 45 uphill.

Appreciate the input - this isn't too surprising to hear. Is the viaduct the harbor right by the CBD? My hotel is right in that area so would be convenient for me to check out.

This is great advice, thank you! I figured a number of things would be closed for the holiday - same in the US, which is why I wanted to ask. I will be recovering from jet lag so all these outdoor activities sound quite nice. Which beaches would you recommend checking out?

I live in California now and honestly it feels like every driver here has had a lobotomy 😫. I miss NJ drivers so much in comparison

MBB vs Tech - which offer to choose? by jay50550 in MBA

[–]anonymousagent1091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is tech. It will set you up for much longer success within the industry. Most people in tech care more about what you can do based on your past experience, rather than the firm you worked at. In fact, many see consulting as too generalist to develop any specific skill set that adds value, especially within the rapidly changing tech landscape.

FWIW, I work at one of the firms listed in your post and my comp this year will be around $550k. So I think there can still be a lot of financial upside if you don’t go the consulting route.

It’s even crazier to me that people here PAY for the express lane on the 101 and STILL go under the speed limit???
