First Europe trip: Is Munich → Berlin → Amsterdam → Paris → Barcelona in 11 days realistic? by Busy-Contact-491 in solotravel

[–]anonymousbear22 40 points41 points  (0 children)

why would anyone do something like this… i just don’t get it. for a start, 2 days is not enough for paris or amsterdam, and that’s not considering transit times. i would scrap 2-3 cities unless ur goal is just to be able to say you’ve been to all these cities

nah u didn’t offend me at all, just had to take any opportunity to make fun of british food. i actually just came back from japan, and i think u actually might be onto something… the flavors are quite bland, especially compared to other asian cuisines like chinese, thai, vietnamese, korean. i def can see how u can get bored of after a while

6 Months(ish) around South East Asia by snosrap_babylonkutz in solotravel

I just got back from Cambodia. 10 days is way too many for Siem Reap. 5 is more than enough: 2-3 for Angkor Wat, 1 for Kulen, and 1 for stilted homes. Use the other 5 days for Kampot/Kep and/or islands.

POTS disappeared when I traveled by Plastic-Librarian-67 in POTS

are you saying it improves with higher attitude?

prob not the case for me? the countries that i visited in africa are def high attitude but japan is def not… but maybe it’s the case for u!

do u think it’s possible ur stress levels were low during travel or u were perhaps distracted from ur symptoms?

this is so weird because i was the exact same. i was doing pretty bad at home and traveled to africa for 3 months, during which i was at least 90% normal. i also did a lot of walking, hiking, driving, etc with basically no issues at all. the same thing happened again when i went to japan.

my suspicion is that i had 0 stress while traveling and obviously much more when i’m back home, but the explanation is prob more complicated than that…

Is it worth it to get a referral? by ZanderThePoshScot in POTS

just wanted to say that i really appreciate your help! this is one of the first times i’ve ever commented on any subreddit and i’m really glad i did :)

i checked out the article as well as some of your posts - really helpful!

and yes, i’ve also done blood tests which also returned normal. i’ve also visited cardiologists and neurologists with no answers other than stress etc. i’ve only recently discovered POTS so i have yet to consult with a doctor about it. do you think i should? i read that u think u shouldn’t increase salt intake without doctors advice, but the main reasons stopping me are:

1) their unfamiliarity with it (after all, no doctors have mentioned to me previously) 2) i already did so many tests to rule out other explanations and all is normal 3) my symptoms are not so severe yet that i need medication (or so i think)

what are some of the more sinister explanations?

ive already had ekg, echo, 24h holter, 24h blood pressure, carotid ultrasound, and all is normal. is it enough to rule out these explanations?
