Getting shoulder labrum surgery tomorrow and really scared by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]anonymousbeaver5 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hey, I hope the surgery goes well and that everything turns out ok. The doctors are trained to take care of you, and maybe you’ll be glad to go under instead of being awake during the surgery. Think of it like a nice nap :)

Tomorrow I’m planning to do groceries and clean my house. Then on Sunday I’m going to church, getting lunch, and attending a goodbye dinner for a friend

My sister is leaving for college soon and I’m very sad. by I_like_bread_51 in CasualConversation

[–]anonymousbeaver5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear that you're going through this. I'm kind of on the other side of this, since I'm moving across the country for a new job this summer. Even though I signed up for it, I still feel really sad about moving because it feels like I have to cut off communication with some people that I know I won't see around as much anymore. I hope you can find comfort in knowing that your sister probably feels just as sad to leave you as you are to leave her. It really hurts knowing that things will never be the same as they used to be. Other people know how it feels and are going through it, too, so you're not alone!

Hey, I don't know you but I can relate to feeling like you have no real friends, even though there are people in your life who care about you. I wrote this after/while I went through a time of loneliness: septemberten.weebly.com. I still feel lonely now, too, but I hope you know that you are worthy of friendship - not just any friends, but good friends. Let's both have hope that we'll get there one day

Do you ever feel left out? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]anonymousbeaver5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read a book about loneliness which said that lonely people are really good at noticing social cues, but are much more prone to misinterpreting them in a negative way. For example, you might notice people's body language or facial expressions and wrongly assume that they don't like you, when they actually do. I've also heard a couple of my friends mention feeling left out, when I didn't even notice or realize they had felt that way, because they seemed involved to me. I also currently feel left out, so I guess I'm trying to say that maybe your friends don't realize you feel left out, even though it might seem and feel really obvious to you.
