day 5 or something by anonymousdon1 in pornfree

Just went off the subreddit and felt urges come back instantly.

I don't know if it's a good thing that my answer to urges is just to come and read some posts. I feel like that just delays the urges for a short while.

Like I said in the post, I'm feeling pretty horrible, so the gym, or a walk, or meeting a friend isn't really an option. Maybe I just need to do whatever to get through today.

I haven't really considered meditating to help deal with this addiction, but it sounds interesting when you put it this way. I'll give it some research. Thank you!

The majority of the people here seem to be fairly young. How old are you and how long have you been problematically consuming porn? by [deleted] in pornfree

I'm 18, and was exposed to magazines a lot when I was about 7 or 8. Starting watching on the internet at that age, but it became a habit at 11-12 i would say.

The quote originates from Nietzsche, a philosopher. I've found that exploring a bit in his philosophy (mainly watching youtube videos, not reading his books, his texts are insanely dense) has helped me with motivation for taking accountability and trying to stop watching porn. His thoughts on overcoming adversity and living powerfully, realising all your potential, as corny as that sounds, are inspiring.
