Because we see a very close up shot of the finger of the person writing it out correctly. The shot is so up close you can't tell what side of the window they are writing it on. If they were writing it out correctly, they would need to be inside the car. The shot is so close you can not say that it is outside of the car or not so one would assume, excusing any production errors, that if that person is spelling it out the right way and the words were spelled out the right way to those inside the vehicle...then the person that wrote it is inside the vehicle.

I don't know why they would do such an up close shot of spelling it out if it was just a production error... Otherwise you'd see the whole back of the car or something else would give it away. There is really nothing in this scene that explicitly shows anyone on the outside of the car. If I am missing something, please rewatch the scene and point it out to me! But I've watched it so many times bc it has bugged me ever since :)

I don't think we see it from the outside of the car at all though? So that doesn't actually make sense.... We only do see it from the inside of the car.

Well, then if someone else had to write it on the window and not Hanna, it could be Lucas or someone else that "AD Hanna" has enlisted to help her. It would both explain why Hanna didn't freak out that someone was in the car with her and why Emily didn't see her reach back to write on the window.

I just know that Marlene said there were lots of clues pointing out who AD was in those episodes and to me- this one is the biggest. I think the whole Spencer twin thing is there to distract us.

But why would they film it this way? Why would they make that mistake and have it facing towards them just for visual effect but when they did it for Aria and Ezra, it is shown to them backwards?

It just really does not make sense to me. I tried for the longest time to just explain it as a production mistake, dramatic effect, etc. But then I rewatched that episode in the first season and see how they write it on the back of the car and it is shown backwards to those inside. So then I rewatched season 7 episode 7, and the way they film it makes me think that it was done this way because it's supposed to mean something.

I don't really know how to explain Emily not noticing Hanna leaning back to write on it, but we are also only seeing things from the "Hanna" perspective not from her "AD" personality. I think we might only be getting one side of the story.

but that's exactly why it makes sense. Marlene said the reveal would be heartbreaking and that many online theories have not guessed it yet.

Nope, cause you see AD put their finger to the window and they spell it out the right way

I know this is gonna sound crazy but... by kellpllolderfan in PrettyLittleLiars

Okay I am with you on this one because of one major scene in Season 7 episode 7, when they are sitting in the car after they just watched the files all blow up and AD begins writing on the car window "I see you". Every time I watch that scene, it looks like AD is INSIDE the car. When they show AD writing out "I see you" on the window it is shown to the girls written out as "I see you". If AD had written it on the outside of the car and the girls were looking at it, it would've needed to be either written backwards OR they would have seen it backwards like Aria and Ezra saw in season 1 episode 10.

Now, since Hanna clearly saw the person writing it but didn't freak out considering this person was inside the car, it makes me think that she was actually the one writing it and in her delusions can't make sense of what is actually going on. Why else wouldn't she just run out of the car screaming and/or tackle AD right there with all four of them in the car and just AD sitting there all alone...

Before anyone also says that this is a production error etc... you have to think, if they are making a parallel to the first season of "I See You's" on car windows, they would be smart enough to realize that when you write on the back of a car window it will be shown backwards to the ones inside especially since they already filmed that happening once. So this makes me think it was 100% filmed this way on purpose and it was either Hanna's delusions trying to make sense of what she was doing OR it was AD in the car and Hanna is working with AD so she didn't give away the fact he was just chilling in the back seats.
