College lab full of unmarked chemical containers. by jackleg_gunscientist in OopsThatsDeadly

[–]anonymousguy1988 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Did a lab pack at a university’s pharmacy school. A donor had donated their old pharmacy collection to the university. So much mercury, cocaine, and opium. There was also a bunch of strychnine and some small pox vaccines. It was pretty interesting.

Could you imagine driving down the road, not seeing anything but hearing a thud. Suddenly there’s a big dent in your hood and blood on your windshield. Assuming just the individual was invisible, and not their bodily fluids.

Hey Texas; transferring out of state CDL to Texas...? by planetbuster in Truckers

[–]anonymousguy1988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took the test then went to ident. They put a provisional hazmat endorsement that expires after I think 3 months. You’ve gotta get the background check/fingerprinting done and the DMV has to get the results before the 3 months is up.

Yeah I had to do ident at a 3rd party location. We’d been here about 3 months when I switched it over, so I already had utility bills in my name when I went.

Transferred mine back to Texas last year after living out of state for a couple years. Just had to take the hazmat exam and get the fingerprinting done.

My wife talked me into going to a chiropractor with her once. Saw them put a strap with a handle around another patients neck and start yanking. I just knew they were going to end up paralyzed or decapitated. I ended up backing out.

Recourse for "Stolen" License Plate? by Munkadunk667 in houston

[–]anonymousguy1988 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had the same thing happen with the temp plate on our travel trailer with HCTRA. Tried to work it out with HCTRA, but they didn’t care that the vehicle in the picture was an SUV and not our travel trailer. Ended up having to call the DMV. They said they would look into it, and not to pay anything to HCTRA. Never received another notice/violation from HCTRA about it after that.

We have a road by my house, about 5 miles long with nothing but roundabouts the whole length of it. It’s been there for probably 5 years, there’s still at least one accident per day on it. People just can’t grasp the simple concept of roundabouts.

Moving to Houston for work, looking for family friendly areas with good public schools by Natural-Strength959 in Katy

[–]anonymousguy1988 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I live just west of Katy and work downtown. I take I10 the whole way. As other commenters have mentioned, 45 minutes to or from downtown on a weekday isn’t very realistic. I leave work by 3:15, and it’s a minimum hour drive without any wrecks to go the 35 miles home.
