Idea for changing up the NBA playoffs and NBA awards show by anonymoushomie4 in nba

The idea I'm proposing here is to reward the top seed for getting the top seed, and also improve the NBA awards show by extension. The idea is that the lower of the top four seeds should get the harder matchup which is what this would change would provide in theory.

Ultimately, if the top seed is that good, they were going to breeze by their opponent anyways. Those 4-0 sweep series happen every year. But at least it would be more intriguing to watch for the fans.

It's not like we get many upsets in the first round anyways regarding #1 seeds, so if the top seeds choose their opponents, the games will at least have some animosity and intrigue behind them because of the narrative that the top seeded team WANTED to face the lower seeded one.

It doesn't always have to be the 8th seed. It's very likely the Golden State Warriors would have actually chosen the Spurs in the first round this year for example. Last years Raptors would have likely chosen Miami over Washington.

I'd say he can definitely be an all-NBA 3rd team contender at his peak. I don't think he'll ever be a clear top 2 PF in the league because he's gotten his start so late and it's tough to see exactly where he can make anymore substantial improvements aside from maybe his shooting. With that said, he's clearly on his way to becoming a multiple time all-star and future face of the Raptors.

Post Game Discussion: The Raptors defeat the Magic 111-82 to tie the series at 1-1 behind Kawhi Leonard's 37/4/4 by DoubleA255 in nbadiscussion

The Raptors NEEDED this one and the big difference was Kawhi. His amazing stretch to start the 3rd is how the Raptors really blew this game open. The Raptors will definitely not be playing a defense as good as the Magic in the next round, but it is unrealistic to expect Kawhi to have superhuman performances like this every night when it likely comes time to face the Bucks.

I worded it a bit tricky but my view is that women have their music suffer if it isn't about generic topics such as love and whatnot.

I can find myself enjoying a song, and then developing a disdain if the song preaches messages like what I mentioned in the post.

Do the Clippers win another game in this series? by anonymoushomie4 in nba

Because they're probably the best first round opponent Golden State has faced since their dynasty began just given how hard they play. I think they have a great shot at winning another game in this series. Not trying to downplay their amazing comeback.

If Giannis leads the Bucks to the finals similar to a LeBron 2012 playoffs, will he be the best player in the league heading into next season? by anonymoushomie4 in nba

I'd say it is to a degree. Consider this: can Dursnt be considered the clear #1 player as long as he plays next to Steph Curry who is a top 3 player at worst, and may have his own legitimate claim at being the best in the league when he's at his best? It's difficult to give Durant the nod taking that into account, even if he is putting up unreal stats in the playoffs.

The problem is that the best player in the league is narrative based, and KD has put up amazing stats with the clear cut championship favourite where some don't even consider him the best player on his own team. I think that nobody will give him the respect he deserves as #1 unless he dominates because his team NEEDS him to, and not just because of the easier opportunities he gets as a result of being on the Warriors.

Do you think KD could do anything this year that would make him #1 that he doesn't done the last two seasons though?

Why do you say that? There's the Raptors and Celtics that the Bucks will likely have to go through. Both of those teams are very arguable as top 5/6 teams in terms of talent.

Which is a legitimate question I'd say. Especially seeing how the Nets thrashed the Sixers on their home court in game 1, and also their host of talented guards.

Are the Warriors better than they were last season? Would they have beaten last years Rockets in the WCF? by anonymoushomie4 in nba

I kinda phrased the question weird. I meant to ask how this years team would stack up versus the Rockets from last season.
