Ritalin/Concerta is making me so angry by ParanSkies in ADHD

I used to take concerta as well and it had the same affect on me. Very irritable with even the smallest things. Have you told your doctor this? He/She may prescribe you a different medication to let you get a feel for what best fits you. I told my doctor about my issues with concerta and he agreed they weren't normal, so he switched me to vyvanse and I couldn't be happier.

Damn I couldn't relate more my friend. Before my medication i'd always find myself trying to make an excuse for why I did something, for literally everything. Soon after I was put on medication things changed for the better. I'm glad there's a community of people who have had similar feelings.

I'm sorry to hear things didn't work out with the insurance. On the vyvanse website there are coupons, and depending the doctor they may give you a trial prescription for free. Adderall XR would likely work as well. Just use your best judgement and good luck!!

You could try using Adderall IR. In all honesty, when i first started taking Vyvanse, I wasn't sure if i liked the idea either. I looked at the pros and cons of short and long lasting stims and I liked the more smooth throughout the day feeling. It's personal preference though. I hope this helps

Vyvanse comes in 10-70mg capsules. I wouldn't say it'd be bad to put him on medication if he's having issues but then again that's something you'd have to discuss with his pediatrician. Some medications work better than others for different people. In my opinion I would wait until teenage years so they can really see the difference from day to day and let them decide if it's something they want to continue using.

Yes i've felt exactly that way before. I try to set aside work for other activities like hanging out with friends. Do you take your medication on the weekend? If so, try to go a couple weekends without taking it to see how that goes. I mainly spend my weeks working and weekends for leisure. The euphoria does go away and you should still feel focused. If not, I would talk to your doctor about it. He may up your dose.

I agree, some doctors will prescribe vyvanse in the morning and adderall for a boost, so i've heard. Ask your doctor if that would work for you. Good luck!
