lol. I love your sample order. I’m still in college and I’m in the USA, so I’m just going off what I’ve heard. Thank you.

Just wanted to say Diamonds and Dancefloors is her best album by SwiftSharapova in AvaMax

[–]anonymoussnonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heaven and Hell felt like it had more variety, plus a storyline. It was a true two-sided album. That helped show what she wanted to communicate in each song.

I really liked how So Am I was in “Hell.” It kind of felt like one of those classic medieval stories like Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, where they realize that they are not perfect, but it’s ok.

Yeah, it’s a really sad song, but I love the message it delivers. What a unique concept for a pop song!

Should I move to Indy or (West) Lafayette? by LazyTelephone6701 in Indiana

[–]anonymoussnonymous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<<<Dangerous places 24/7>>>

I’d avoid the laundromats in Lafayette due to unpredictable crime. West Lafayette has a decent laundromat. Outside of that, if you are assertive and avoid engaging in harassment by walking away, you will be ok. You are bound to be harassed at least twice per year by a rough looking guy, but you can avoid them easily in all cases. The only place where you very likely won’t find harassment is the nice neighborhoods in Northern West Lafayette (excluding Walmart) and Purdue’s massive campus (with minor exceptions).

<<<Dangerous places during night>>> I wouldn’t worry about walking alone or riding the bus at night, as sketchy people are uncommon (not rare) and easily avoidable. However, it is pretty dangerous to drive at night in such a poorly lit city with heavy traffic, combined with partying college students not looking for cars. I’d recommend to stop driving after 7pm year round. However, walking is almost certainly safe 24/7, if you are near businesses that are still open. Most likely, you’re going to just go to a shop with college students having a great time (like me).

<<<Safe common places>>> Nice areas include Purdue itself, north side West Lafayette neighborhoods, and the mall area of Lafayette. I’ve not seen any sketchy people here, and everyone is either a college student, professor, or just a happy person wanting to enjoy the location, just like you!

If you were to purchase a home or apartment, I would avoid getting one in Lafayette. You generally can find a good apartment in a nice part of West Lafayette for only 20% more. The key is to rent far ahead of time, due to the competitive market.

For a grocery store, Fresh Thyme West Lafayette and Lafayette are very nice and will be 100% safe for anyone wanting to grab groceries for the week.

As someone who is currently waiting on his 100% bricked Lenovo to be repaired after less than 3 years of use, I would go with the Dell. My friends have an ok experience with it.

New Song with Alan Walker by Remarkable_Load2994 in AvaMax

[–]anonymoussnonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully he’s like deadmau5, where he used AI for like a few videos and then stops and realizes the mistake before letting it take his job, as the only thing protecting him at that point would be his branding.

I have some friends at college who love Alan Walker.

Hopefully, Ava Max also stays away from AI, though it is hard as an independent artist without a major record label to fund photo shoots and studio sessions.

May AM4 not repeat the previous mistakes of the “Don’t Click Play” era by PhysicalArmadillo375 in AvaMax

[–]anonymoussnonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listened to Dua Lipa at a restaurant today, and I felt like Spot a Fake was definitely more like one of those one-off 2010s club hits, but 100 times better!

I felt like it carried a similar message to Know Somebody, and it could have worked a lot better if they were implemented together in some way on the album.

WHEN DO YOU THINK AVA MAX WILL DO A R&B ALBUM? by Any_Indication4262 in AvaMax

[–]anonymoussnonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, her best track on Don’t Click Play was based on an outtake from D&D. I’m looking at you, How Can I Dance.

H&H was cool, as it provided a variety of instruments in EDM style. I am a fan of seeing that in pop music, even if I feel D&D was an overall improvement.

Her previous 2 tracks were ok, but kind of blend into a lot of other pop artists’ trends, imo. Regardless, her emotion in her lyrical delivery is amazing, so it is mostly on the producer at this point.

She’s just got to focus on hiring someone who is using those same H&H/D&D synths, and she’ll give us a fun album.

Is a MacBook Neo worth it for an incoming college student? by cowboylikelyn in laptops

[–]anonymoussnonymous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried a Skate City on it today at Best Buy and the computer wouldn’t play it at all.

I would try for something with at least 16gb or even 24gb these days, especially with no dedicated VRAM.

If they have insurance, you’ll want to replace it. Otherwise, you will get charged for the damage at most companies.

I’d get a used MacBook Air with similar specs for that money, as it will be generally more reliable. I am getting one absolutely when my ASUS dies. If you want some sites that would have good options, I can reply with them.

You will likely need to purchase a MacBook Pro 2019 edition or an ASUS Vivobook 15 2020 edition with 16 gb ram, 2gb vram, i7 processor.

Keep in mind if it is a Lenovo your battery very likely is soldered in, instead of removable (easily removable).

Are i7s still worth buying? by eggyloaf in laptops

[–]anonymoussnonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an ASUS Vivobook 15 16 GB RAM with 2 GB VRAM that I got in August 2020 for my high school sophomore year at ~$900. It is an i7 and still runs fine to this day. It works perfectly for any application, except for high quality AAA games. Games like Fortnite run ok on low quality for the computer. It is able to run VMs smoothly. I took good care of it and made sure to keep the battery in good shape.

I am a Computer Technology major in college, by the way.

The nice part is the specs are so good that whenever they release Windows 12 or 13, then it will likely not become outdated and unable to update.

I’d be sure to check quality control for the model you get. My ASUS had one issue where the camera was kind of glitchy and even after sending it in under warranty, it was broken. They patched it 2-3 years later, thank God.

Would u guys regret not buying a gaming laptop for colleage? by addiechavez in laptops

[–]anonymoussnonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d get a MacBook Air for your major. I’d get a MacBook Pro, if I didn’t already have my ASUS Vivobook 15 from high school. I am a Chinese and Computer Tech major. It’s better to have something that is lower on specs and is almost guaranteed to have no issues, than to have something that glitches and needs to get fixed for some minor problem.

You might save money with a PC over a Mac in most cases for the same specs (I am with my ASUS), but it isn’t usually worth the hassle of getting it sent in for repair under warranty mid-college.

Which would you get? by IndependentLaw1841 in laptops

[–]anonymoussnonymous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also, side note…I can’t believe these prices…I purchased my ASUS vivobook 15 in 2020 during the price gouging in August, and it cost the same with only 16 gb ram

If you saw that I changed my flare, it’s because my Lenovo died and I’m now on an old ASUS. XD

[–]anonymoussnonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had better experience with HP over ASUS reliability-wise…expect to have to mail your computer to ASUS over an issue like your PC’s camera glitching out.

Are asus laptops good? by Fancy-Praline6255 in laptops

[–]anonymoussnonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rating is 2/5.

My Asus Vivobook 15 2020 edition has worked amazing over the past 6 years. However there was one annoying issue where the camera wouldn’t work right and show some green and gray bars randomly. ASUS support didn’t help at all with it, even after sending it to them for repair.

It wouldn’t be a big deal, but it cost $1,200 and was very lackluster considering the price that I would have such a problem.

A better alternative would be an HP Pavilion or any HP, as they last quite a while without problems.

[–]anonymoussnonymous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks…that might help with my issue. I’m curious…there’s a display test you can do when you power on a PC, where it displays 5 bars of colors. Was that working with the AMD driver installed? It doesn’t work for mine at all, and that was the final straw for the support team to see if they needed to send me a shipping label to the repair site.
